"Looks like you're doing less fires and more taking temperatures today" Herrmann said to Stella who was pulling her paramedic jacket on.
"Yeah, Casey called bright and early to ask if I could sub for Dawson" Stella replied tiredly as she zipped her jacket up "apparently, she's beating herself up about this missing girl."
"Yeah, she has a tendency to do that." Herrmann informed the girl before they walked towards the bunk room, unknowingly passing Hannah and Kelly who had heard every word and sent each other worried looks.
"How was she last night? You said you both went searching for her right?" Hannah asked him as she leaned against the locker next to his. He looked stressed and worried, he knew Gabby a lot better than Hannah so he clearly had a more knowledgable understanding of how far she would take this, but she did know Kelly well enough by now to know that he wouldn't let her deal with it alone.
"She was pretty beat up about it, didn't want to stop asking people if they'd seen Bria" he explained to her as he closed his locker "I had to promise her that we'd try again to get her to go home" Hannah felt terrible for Gabby.
"Truck 81, Squad 3, Ambulance 61, woman caught in a machine. 805 South Quincy Street."
"Fire Department coming through! Step back, please!" Hannah yelled as they arrived at the location and began making her way through the crowd "Fire Department! Let us through!"
"Step back! Step back!" Matt ordered the crowd who began dispersing.
Hannah approached the rotating door to get a better view of the accident "I'm late! Let's go!" an impatient businessman shouted at her but she didn't' pay him any attention, instead she focused on the injured woman who kept asking for help. It looked like her foot had gotten stuck underneath one of the rotating doors.
"Hold on, ma'am! I promise you that we're gonna get you out of there as safely and quickly as possible" Hannah assured the woman as she came up with a plan on how to proceed.
"It hurts! Please, someone, help me!"
"Kelly! I'm gonna need you to break this glass with your halligan so we can get access to the captured foot!" She instructed the Lieutenant who followed her instructions immediately while the injured woman continuously asked for help. "We have to knock the rest of this glass off, and then cut through this section here to free the foot, and we should place some cribbing or a stopper on the opposite side of the door to prevent movement".
"Ma'am, you gotta stop moving!" Matt told the lady who kept wiggling, trying to free her foot.
"It hurts!"
"I understand that but we're working at getting you out, you're actually going to do further damage to your foot if you keep moving!" Hannah informed the woman.
"Hey, can you use your little glass breaker on my section?" the man from earlier asked and Hannah rolled her eyes.
"Hey!" Kelly shouted at the man "stop touching the glass, shut up, and stand back!"
