"Hey you" Kelly mumbled as he approached Hannah in the common area. She glanced at him before quickly turning back to the coffee pot.
"Morning" she grumbled in response as she poured the black liquid into her mug and then leaving the common area to head to the Bullpen for their Morning Meeting but before she had even entered the room the bells went off and she had to abandon her precious coffee so she could rush out to the apparatus floor and gear up.
"Hey Captain" Herrmann stated and Hannah turned to him but noticed he was actually talking to Casey "Who's taking over the wheel for Otis?" Casey looked around at his options before his eyes landed on Hannah.
"Captain Karev will" he answered and she nodded before jogging over to the opposite side of the Truck and climbing into the driver's side.
"Alright Truck 81," she said as she started the engine "Ready to show me what I've been missing on Squad?"
"Just you wait Karev, we're gonna knock your socks off" Stella teased as the leaned forward and massaged Hannah's shoulders briefly before relaxing back into her seat.
"It's my dad. He's stuck." A woman approached them as they arrived on the scene "My mom just said to call 911 and wait outside. He's in the kitchen." she informed them and guided them through the restaurant and into the back. "The fire department's here."
"Good, honey, go back outside now." the mother told her daughter.
"What seems to be the problem?" Matt asked as they neared closer and came into view of the man with his arm completely bent backward in a giant mixer.
"Oh My God." the daughter stated as she finally saw what had happened to her father "You have to get him out of there!" she yelled at the firefighters.
"Hey, we will, I promise. Just gonna take you over here." Stella informed the daughter and moved her to a different part of the room.
"We tried to unwind the thing." the wife explained to Casey who had kneeled in front of the mixer to assess the best plan of action. "It's jammed."
"Let's get him some fluids and morphine." Gabby instructed Sylvie as the paramedics approached.
"Get this machine unplugged." Matt ordered to nobody in particular but Hannah was the closest to the plug socket.
"It's already disconnected, Cap." she informed him as she held up the cord.
"Thank you, Hannah. What's your name?" he asked the wife.
"Jill."
"Alright Mouch why don't you take Jill over there" he pointed to the area away from the machine "and talk her through what we're doing." Mouch moved to quickly follow his Captains orders.
Hannah climbed up on a box so that she could view the motor "Alright Casey I'm going to need a Phillips's head." she informed him and passed her the electric screwdriver from the toolbox and she quickly unscrewed all of the screws and removed the cover. "I can't see what's locking the gears. This is gonna take too much time." she told them as she climbed down.
"Captains, it looks like this beater attachment should just pop right off." Stella noted from her crouched position beside the man.
"We'd have to twist it the other way to unhook it. It'll put pressure on the injury." Matt countered "Best thing is to cut the shaft, but his arm's in the way."
"Karev, maybe we could unbolt the motor and then rotate the whole assembly." Herrmann suggested to the blonde.
"Great idea. Casey, 9/16th." she requested the bolt fastener as she climbed back up on the box.
