Six weeks, six weeks I've been coming into Momma B's Grill for breakfast at nine in the damn morning, just to be closer to her. Bailey moved into the apartment right across from me six weeks ago. She's quiet and tries her hardest to blend into the shadows. The thing the girl doesn't know is that not even the darkness can dim her beauty. Look at the shit this girl has me saying, I don't even know why I'm doing this. Every time I try and speak to her, she freezes like a deer caught in headlights, and won't say more to me than a fucking hi. She's definitely not the type of woman I get tangled with, that's for sure. I always tend to go for the easy kind, the kind of women that all I have to do is crook my finger at them, and they're already stripping naked for me. Not Bailey though, she's definitely not easy. She's reserved, quiet but has a fight in her you don't see in everybody. Survival is more like it. Bailey is the type of woman that you would move mountains to be worthy of. She has the most delicate smooth skin, a little thin for my taste, but it just enhances her beauty. She's natural, never seen her with an ounce of makeup on, which I'm thankful for since her green eyes are already so damn captivating. Makeup would only make them stand out more and drive me crazier than I already am. Then there's her hair, chestnut coloured and curly. It looks so damn soft it makes me mad wanting to touch it, just to prove I'm right. Natural beauty I tell you. Let's not forget she has a son. Yeah, you heard me right. Five-year-old son, the cutest little kid if you ask me. Now, he's been an easy win. Logan loves Zeus, my dog, and every time he sees us he comes on over to say hi and give him some love, and let me tell you, that dog eats that shit up. Too damn bad his momma barely even acknowledges us. Damn, I need to get laid and just work her out of my system.
I've been sitting in Baileys section for about ten minutes now, and I know she knows I'm sitting here waiting for her, because her waitress friend, Ashton, hasn't been too subtle in voicing that apparently, I have it bad for her. Shit, is it that obvious that I only come in here for her? I don't have too much time to second guess getting up and leaving when I see her making her way over to my table. Her soft curls are thrown up on top of her head in some messy bun. Seeing it like that makes my hands itch to tug at it and watch her curls cascade down her back.
"Good morning Gavin." So damn soft and sweet. Did I mention that she has the sexiest voice I've ever heard? It's the perfect blend of angel and devil. And the way my name rolls off her tongue, just makes me want to throw her over my shoulder and get her alone so I can make her moan and see if she says my name in the same way as a drive into her. Fuck, now my dick is hard just thinking of her under me. She clears her throat, and I finally realize I'm making her nervous just staring at her and I haven't even replied.
"Good morning beautiful." I manage to choke out. I clear my throat and smile up at her. She grants me a half-smile that nowhere near touches her eyes. At least she smiles, the first time I called her beautiful she ran away and didn't even answer me. I call this progress.
"What can I get started for you today?' She softly replies avoiding making eye contact with me. I hate how nervous she is around me. I have tried everything to be friendly and welcoming, but it seems I'm either off my game or suck at the friendly approach, because I'm the only person in town she doesn't talk to unless she has to, which is in this case.
"I'll get Momma B's breakfast special with..."
"... a side of extra crispy bacon and hot sauce.' we say at the same time. She freezes and I notice the lightest shade of pink gracing her cheeks. Damn, she really is beautiful, and cute when she blushes. Fuck, she remembered my order. Well, Ill be damned, maybe I was wrong about sweet Bailey after all.
"Sorry..." She whispers and begins to turn away and make her escape. I move fast and reach out and take her wrist, she freezes and looks down at my large hand engulfing her tiny wrist.
"It's okay. I've been coming here for six weeks straight, getting the same thing. I'm surprised the kitchen doesn't already have it made by the time you place the order." I try to make light of it, as I can feel the embarrassment rolling off her like waves. I let her hand go and finally she looks at me.
"They pretty much do. As you said, its been six weeks of the same order every day." I smile dumbfound at her, as this is the first time she has ever said a full sentence to me and is she teasing me? Oh, sweet Bailey, what have you started?
"Well, what do you suggest I change it to, beautiful?" I continue holding her gaze and give her the sexy smirk I know drives women mad and pray she doesn't think I'm being a douche.
"Umm... well... if you're sure you want to try something different.... there's the Fully Loaded Feast, which has pancakes, 3 eggs any style, sausage and bacon, a side of fruits and any bread." This time she says all this holding my gaze and finishes off with a small smirk that just about sends me down on my knees. There's just something about this woman that pulls me to her, no matter how much I try to stay away. Who the fuck am I kidding? I don't try worth a shit to stay away from her.
"Damn beautiful, are you trying to get me fat with all that goodness?" I tease her, hoping she'll continue to talk to me.
"Oh! No! I didn't mean it like that... I just suggested it because you asked, and well, you already get most of the order.... umm... "
"Wow, wow. I'm kidding Bailey." I let out a chuckle, and when she realizes that I'm just teasing her, she lets out a huff and shakes her head. Too damn cute.
"I'll take the Fully Loaded Feast with scrambled eggs and extra crispy bacon, please."
"Coming right up. I'll be back with your coffee." She gives me another small smile and then quickly heads back to the front counter to place my order.
Whatever that was, I am taking it. Bailey has never spoken more than a handful of words to me, she has never even tried to carry out a conversation with me. But that was something new, and I intend to pursue it.
