We’re all standing around the island in the kitchen having some food and drinks. Apparently, everyone had been helping Gavin plan this big day. I still can’t believe it. Not only the beautiful proposal but the fact that Gavin asked Mr. Henderson for my hand, and that Mr. Henderson gave him his wife’s engagement ring. That’s the perfect part in all this. Oh, and the fact that Gavin bought us this gorgeous house! I still can’t believe this is our new home. This man really is perfect.
“Are you happy, darlin’?” Mr. Henderson cuts into my thoughts. Everyone is eating, chatting, and laughing and I sort of just got lost in thought.
“Happy isn’t the right word to describe what I’m feeling.” I smile brightly at him. In return he pats my cheek lightly and smiles.
“You deserve every bit of happiness and love in your life, Bailey. You and that precious little boy.” Gosh, he’s going to make me cry. Thankfully, I don’t wear makeup, so I don’t have to worry about it running down my face and scaring everyone.
“Thank you so much for giving me Lila’s ring. I can never tell you how honored I am to wear it, and how much you mean to me Mr. Henderson. Logan and I love you very much, and although there isn’t a date yet, I would like to go ahead and ask you if you would do me the honor of giving me away?” I watch as his eyes swell with tears, as he tries to compose himself.
“The honor is all mine, sweetheart. Of course, I will.” I wrap my arms around him and hug him tight.
“I hope you know I plan to make you officially Mrs. McKnight as soon as possible, babe.” Gavin interrupts our moment while everyone chuckles. I look up at him and see the fire burning in his eyes when he calls me Mrs. McKnight. Oh my. He is so sexy when he is being all cave man like.
“I’ve never planned a wedding before, but I’d assume it would take some time.” I give him a flirty smirk just to rile him up.
“How long you need babe?” He breathes out frustrated while everyone laughs. I join them and this does not impress him.
“Well, Christmas is in three weeks, and then there’s New Year’s so, I’d say we could do a summer wedding. Maybe June or July?” I tease.
“Absolutely not! I am not waiting a year to make you my wife.” He all but yells, and I have to really hold in my laughter.
“You listen here, buddy. This is her special day! Everything needs to be perfect, from the dress to the flowers, and we need time to do that!” Ash pipes in. Bless her. Gavin looks my way, defeated.
“Fine… I want that day to be perfect for you, baby. Anything you want, it’s yours. Just don’t make me wait a year. Please.” I wrap my arms around his neck, and press my lips to his and then whisper in his ear for only him to hear.
“We can do spring. April or May, but let's see how things go.” He chuckles before lifting me off my feet and spinning me around.
“You’re gonna be the death of me, woman.”
“Til death do us part.” I tease while he laughs and presses a quick kiss on my lips.
Three Weeks Later
“Mom! When is everyone getting here?” Logan shouts from the loft upstairs. The second floor has an open space where you can see down to the main floor. Logan seems to love that about our new home since it saves him time, not having to come down the stairs to find me and ask me questions every two minutes. I shake my head and smile while I place the turkey in the oven to cook for the next six hours or so. After Gavin’s proposal, he let us know that we were moving in right away and that we would be hosting Christmas here. I was a little nervous, as we had a lot to do before moving in and get ready for Christmas, as everyone was coming over for Christmas dinner. That didn’t seem to worry Gavin since everyone helped us move in. Momma B and Ash helped me with cleaning up the place, and Gavin and Hunter got the furniture in place. We did have to buy a few new things, such as a new bedroom set for Logan, a living room set, and a new bedroom set for our master suite, and also a patio set, but we refrained from buying that since we wouldn’t be sitting out there just yet. Before I knew it, in just over two weeks, we had everything moved in and settled. Having a family to lean on really is great.
