I am so sleep deprived that I was sitting here trying really hard to think of another boy name that starts with an e besides Evan, and had to literally look it up before I realized that my brother's name is literally Ethan-

"Just so you know, my parents aren't home... again."

"Dude, your parents are never home. Where do they go?"

"I don't know to be perfectly honest."

Jared unlocked the front door and we walked into his house. Instantly, Bella came running down the stairs to greet us.

"Bella!" I call out, holding out my arms to get her to come to me. Instead, she just totally ignores my existence and runs past me to Jared.

He laughed at me as he crouched down to scratch her ears.

"That was so rude," I say before she realizes I was there and wiggles over to me. "I guess you just don't like me, huh? Considering that last time I was here you pushed me into a bathtub. That sucked."

"Hey, I forgot about that," Jared snickered, and I punched him in the arm.

He started leading me and the dog to the basement to hang out, then his phone started ringing.

"Oh my god get off my dick," he said as soon as he saw who was calling him again.

"Who is it?"

"My coworker."

"Oh yeah, you have a job now. That's kinda weird to think about."

"I'm taking that as a compliment. You can chill in here and I'll just go back outside. I have to answer him eventually."

I nodded and he walked out. Before he shut the door I could hear him say, "what do you want from me, peasant?"

I settled down on his couch and pet Bella until he came back. She was more than happy to receive my love and jumped on the couch to put her head in my lap.

When Jared came back in, he said, "I was gone for two minutes and you already stole my bitch."

"You talking to me or the dog?" I ask jokingly.

"You decide," he answered, winking. I laugh and get up, expecting for us to finally go to his basement.

"Hey, we should go on a walk," Jared says instead. "We can bring Bella, too."

"Right now?"

"If you want."

"Sure."

And then we set off on our little adventure.

I stopped wondering why this was all happening and just accepted that it was. And I liked that it was, too. Even if this isn't the way that we normally hang out, I still like the fact that I'm hanging out with Jared. I'm still a little upset that he woke me up though.

I've never explored his neighborhood besides the way we get to his house, so all of this is new to me. I think this is the first time he took Bella this way too since she seemed very interested in everything. Or she's just being a dog. Either way.

"Do you go on walks often?" I joked as it looked Jared has gone on this same route many times before.

"Evan I literally have a dog."
