That moment when you wrote a fucking lot on your computer but it didn't save so you lost all your progress on the chapter because you're stubborn and don't want to write on google docs first like everyone else does HAHA I LOVE THAT
ok anyway this chapter is hella short but like I kept having writers block and it's a filler chapter anyway so like yeah
"You like Evan~"
"Alana literally shut the fuck up."
Alana and I just pulled into Zoe's driveway to help her pack away all her stuff for New York. She didn't help, like at all, but Alana persisted we go anyway. Probably just an excuse to see Zoe as much as she could before she left. Evan isn't coming with us, for obvious reasons, but the two of them hung out yesterday so they could still see each other before she left. Since Evan wasn't here, Alana took it as a chance to tease me about the night me and Evan kissed.
"Just admit it already! We all know, so there's no point in denying it."
"I can't admit something when there's nothing to admit. I don't like Evan."
"Prove it."
"How am I supposed to do that?"
"Exactly. You can't. Because you like him."
"Bitch-"
"Ha, get reKt."
"You're so stupid I swear to God."
I got out as fast as I could, hoping the teasing would stop as soon as we got in the house.
Yeah, I was wrong.
"How's Mr. Loverboy doing?" Zoe said as soon as she saw me. "Have you been slobbering over him recently?"
"Why."
"Hey Zoe, you know I said they were going to get married and raise a dog child together?" Alana came up behind me. "Well guess who just got a dog. This guy. And guess who came with him." Zoe somehow managed to literally make the Lenny face. "Yep!"
Ignoring the fact that they were talking about me and Evan getting married, I realized the reason they were avoiding saying Evan's name was because Mrs. Murphy was in the kitchen. She was cleaning the countertops but very clearly listening to the conversation. Now I want to die even more.
"Aren't we here to pack boxes and shi-stuff." Good save there bud.
"I already packed my stuff. We just have to load them into my car, which can wait. Right now we need to talk about your relationship." Zoe answered.
"Yeah, one that doesn't exist."
"It will if you just admit you like him," Alana said.
"I hate you both so much."
First, it was Mom, and now it's these two. Mom doesn't even know about the party! I'm pretty sure Ms. Hansen told her about how she thinks Evan likes me, and now that's all Mom can talk about. Like when I called her while Evan and I were at the shelter, telling her about how Evan likes Bella, and she says, "She's not the only one he likes~" before I hung up on her. Why can't I just live my life in peace?
Eventually Zoe dragged us into her room to get away from her mom. Her room didn't look like she was about to move out. Then again, it wasn't like she was moving houses, just to a dorm room. I've also never actually been into her room before, so there's that.
"Did anything...happen while you were getting you're dog?"
"Evan fell into a bathtub. That was funny," I reply, ignoring Alana's suggestive tone.
"Wait, what?" Zoe asked, laughing.
"Yeah. Bella got really excited when she got out of the tub, and ended up pushing Evan into it. It was hilarious."
"So he just kinda... had wet clothes?"
"Nah, I gave him some of mine." I instantly regret saying that, as both girls start cooing in unison.
"Did he look cute?" Alana asked, wiggling her eye brows at me.
"He looked weird. Can you imagine Evan in the shit that wear? No, cause all he wears kakis and those fucking shoes." (Please get that reference)
"What's wrong with his shoes?"
"Have you seen them before? They're dumb."
Alana gives me a look I don't understand, before turning to Zoe. Zoe nods, and they turn back to face me. Did they just have a whole conversation by just looking at each other? Whatever.
"We're talking about something else now! I got a job, that's nice."
"Don't get fired this time," Alana said.
"Oh, fuck off."
"Wait, I wanna know the tea," Zoe says, looking confused.
"You don't get to know the tea."
"Damn."
"I'll tell you the tea later."
"Alana, no."
_______
Lots of pestering later, Zoe's dad came home and we decided to actually do what we came here to do. We loaded all of her stuff into her car, which didn't take long. Then Zoe, her family, and Alana had an emotional moment while I very awkwardly stood in the corner.
I wonder if this is how it'll be when I finally move out of my parent's place. If I ever move out, my dad always corrects. They really don't have any hope for me, do they?
I'm assuming this wasn't the only time The Murphy's have been emotional over Zoe moving out. I remember one time last year, before the Conner project had gone to shit, Zoe has mentioned that as soon as Conner died they clung to her and acted like totally different parents. I mean, it makes sense considering the circumstances.
After that ended, we decided that I was going to go ahead and leave, and before Zoe hits the road she'll drop Alana off at her house.
"Where are you going, anyway?" Alana asked me when I got ready to go.
"Evan's house."
"Of course you are."
"Shut up."

I don't really like this chapter, it feels rushed and it's too short, but I needed something to go in between the last chapter and the next one, so I'm posting it anyways
Also I spend way too much time on tik tok guys h e l p there's so much stuff I need/want to be doing but I'm too busy procrastinating on that cursed app what the frick frack
Also I deeply relate to Jared in this chapter cause literally my entire marching band want me and my best friend Logan to date (I'm not kidding everyone has come up to my sister at some point to ask if we were dating, then get disappointed when she tells them no lmao) but like 1. he has a girlfriend 2.
