POV Racetrack
Later dat night, I's couldn't keep me self from smilin. I's took Brooklyn ta Tibby's afta woirk and we had a little... fun back at da lodge house. I think I's actually startin ta fall in love with 'er.
I's sat outside da lodgehouse with a few of da guys. We was just hangin out and talkin. I had me arm around Brooklyn, who hadn't left me side all day.
I dug 'round in me pockets for me new pack of cigarettes. I bought a fresh pack before me date with Brooklyn. Total deal, I only paid 2 dimes!
" 'Ey Skittery, pass me ya matches. I's left me box inside." I said.
Skittery dug around in his own pocket and threw me da matches. I thanked him, quickly lit a cigarette, threw da box back, and returned me arm around Brooklyn's shoulder.
"Anyone else want?" I offered my cigarettes.
Blink and Jack took one and thanked me. I smiled and nodded.
"Someones in a good mood..." Blink teased.
I just shrugged and smirked. I was horrible at hidin me feelins. Course I's was happy.
"Yous betta take advantage of it while it lasts." I joked.
Da boys all exchanged glances and laughed.
"Do you guys wanna play cards or something?" Brooklyn piped up.
I arched an eyebrow at da group. It would really top me night off- especially ta make a little money. Jack, Skittery, Mush, Blink and Boots all nodded in agreement.
"I don't got money ta burn right now, can we's not play anythin with bets?" Boots complained.
"Yeah sure. I's don't care." I's said, fishin out a deck in me pocket.
Everyone's mouth hung open shocked. Yep. It sounded very unlike me but still, I rolled me eyes.
"C'mon less gawkin more talkin. Whatta yous wanna play?" I said snappin me fingers ta get their attention.
Brooklyn giggled quietly.
"Somethin simple. I's don't feel like workin me brain." Jack suggested.
"Fine. War? Is dat simple enough for yous goirls." I joked.
Dey all laughed as I started dealin da cards.
"Yup. He's back. Good goin fellas." Mush teased.
I hated war. Are's we flippin ova cards or arguein ova whos cheatin puttin there ace back into their flippin pile. Not much cards end up eva gettin played it's usually just arguin.
We played a few rounds and I was bored. I wanted ta play a game dat I could have fun with and make money. Brooklyn got tired afta I finished me second cigarette at da end of game 4. I decided ta stay out a little bit longer ta see if anyone wanted ta play somethin fun like Poker.
"I'll be up soon." I smiled givin her a kiss before she got up.
Da boys made faces and whistled. I rolled me eyes. I watched da lodge door close and smiled to me self. She's so beautiful. I picked up da cards and started ta shuffle.
"So, we's playin poker or what?" I asked.
They all just stared at me with smug smirks. I stopped shufflin and folded me arms.
