When you lose someone you love but find your way back to them.

"I love you billie." "I love you more." I watched her walk away and that's the last I saw of her.

Now
"Hurry up! We're gonna be late!" Kaylee yelled. "I'm coming!" I yelled back. I slipped my last shoe on and headed down the stairs. "Finally." She laughed. "Shut up!" I said. I followed her outside. "I really don't want to go." I groaned. "You're gonna thank me later." She laughed. "Doubt it. Some random party in the hills with a bunch of stuck up celebrities. How'd you get invited again?" I asked. "Skye's sugar daddy. Plus. It's a bunch of like c list celebrities or something." She shrugged. "Ah. Okay." I said sarcastically. "It'll be fun. Expensive alcohol. Looking at pretty people." She said. "Looks like I'll be coming home alone." I said. "Come on. Just let loose." She said driving onto the interstate. "I can't. I'm the mom friend. I need to make sure you're safe."I laughed. "I'll be fine. Just have fun tonight. Okay?" She said. I shrugged.

We walk up to an obnoxiously sized mansion. "Do we just walk in?" Kaylee asked. I shrugged. I pushed open the doors and was greeted by a large group of people and the smell of alcohol. "Jeez." I whispered. Skye walked over to us. "Hello ladies." She laughed. "Hey." I smiled glad to see a familiar face. "Come. Let's go get a drink and mingle she said grabbing my hand and leading me to the bar.

I sipped on a random drink skye gave me as talked to some random singer. "Come dance with me." Kaylee whispered in my ear. I excused myself and followed her to the dance floor. "You remember Billie?" She asked rather bluntly. "Yeah of course I do. She broke my heart remember?" I said confused. She nodded. "Well she's here." She said. "What?" I said looking around. "She's behind you." I stiffen a little. "Is she looking at me?" I asked. "No." She said. I turned to look to indeed see Billie talking to a group of people. I instantly got a sad feeling in the pit of my stomach as we made eye contact. "I need to go." I whispered turning back to Kaylee. "She's coming over here." She said. "Y/n." She said. I turned to see her standing there with her hands in her pockets. "Billie." I said. She looked at the floor then back at me. "This is awkward." She said with her eyes filled with sadness. I nodded in agreement. "Can we go somewhere to talk?" She asked. "Why? So you can talk to me just to leave me again?" I asked. "I need to explain everything." She said. "You had two years to explain." I said walking away. She grabbed my hand. "Please. I need you." She said. I laughed. I looked to Kaylee with tears in my eyes. "You should talk to her." She whispered. I knew she was right. I needed to tell her how much she hurt me and hopefully move on. "Fine." I said. Billie followed me out of the house. "You have 10 minutes." I said. "I'm so sorry y/n. I got so caught up in touring and writing that we just lost touch." She said quickly like she was waiting a long time to say that. I shook my head. "It's been two years. You could if called. Texted." I said. "I lost my phone and lost all my contacts. You don't have social media so it was hard to find you. I went to your old house but there was no one there. I laughed. "Finneas had my number." I said. "Finneas also lost his phone." She said. I sighed. "I have never stopped loving you. Thinking about you." She said. I shook my head. "Why did you leave?" I asked. "I got scared." She whispered. "Billie!" I heard a girl scream. She turned and sighed in annoyance. The girl walked up and kissed her cheek. "Who's this?" The girl asked grabbing her hand. "Y/n." She said. My heart stung. "Yeah. Looks like you're sorry." I scoffed walking away from her. "Y/n! Wait!" I called and Uber and walked to the gate to wait. Tears streamed down my face. I could hear Billie calling after me. When she finally caught up to me she grabbed my arm. "Look. It's not what it looks-" "I called you. Everyday. From the day you told me you loved me until about five months ago." I said interrupted her. She bowed her head defeated. "Look. I'm sorry. I really am. I was scared." She said. "And I wasn't? You were the only good thing in my life and it was gone in a blink of an eye. You left me hanging." I said. She nodded. "I was selfish. I didn't know how to deal with the emotions I was feeling. You're the only person who loves me for me and not some fantasy. I wish I could go back in time and do it all over again!" She said. "I still love you." She sniffled. "I still love you too." I said. She looked at me and her bright blue eyes were now dark and sad. "But you really hurt me." I said. "I need time." "Okay." She said. "You know where to find me when you're ready." I nodded as the car pulled up. I felt her watching me get in. I looked back to see her wiping her tears. I sighed and gave the driver my address.

Four months later....
I sat staring at the picture of me and billie. "Go to her." Kaylee said in the doorway. I sighed. "You love her still. It's obvious." She said. "Yeah." I said not knowing what she said. She walked over to me. "When's the last time you slept?" She asked. I shrugged. "I can't." I said still holding the picture. "Let's get some sleep." She said. She pulled me towards the bed and laid me down. She stood next to me and I snuggled under the covers. "I'll be in the living room." She said. I grabbed her hand. "Don't leave me." I said. She nodded and sat there. "I miss her."  I said. "I know." She breathed. "Get some rest."

I passed out for a few hours and when I woke up billie flooded my mind. I sat up and grabbed a sweatshirt and slipped on some shoes. Kaylee looked at me. "I'll be back." I said. She nodded. I got into my car and drove to Billie's.

I pulled up to her house and got out of the car. I took a deep breath before I knocked softly. I heard footsteps and the door opened to see a puffy eyed Billie. "Hi." I whispered. "Hi." She said. She opened the door for me to come in. I stood there and all the memories flooded back. She led me to her room. She shut her door and I looked around her room. "I'm guessing you forgive me?" She asked. I looked at her and tears spilled out of my eyes. "I can't be mad at you anymore. I miss you too much. I love you too much." I said choking out tears. Billie rushed over to me and wrapped me in her arms. "I'm so sorry I hurt you." She whispered. I melted in her touch. When we finally pulled away I looked at her. "I'm sorry for being such a bitch." I said. "You had a right to be mad. I left you without a goodbye." She said. "But we found each other again." She said. "I could of tried to reach out too. I shouldn't of given up." I said. "That's in the past now. We only have to worry about the future for now on." She said. I smiled. "I love you y/n. I always will." She said placing her hands on the sides of my face and leaning in slowly. I closed the gap and our lips danced softly. I pulled away. I grew incredibly tired. "Stay forever?" She asked. I nodded and closed my eyes. She led me to the bed. I kicked off my shoes and crawled under the covers with her. As soon as my head hit the pillows I was out. Billie brushed the hair out of my face and kissed my forehead. She closed her eyes and passed out too. You always find your way back to the one you love and are meant to be with.
