Lydia woke up sleeping next to Draco on a couch.

She looked at her watch and jumped up. She shook Draco’s shoulders. “I woke up on time!” She said excitedly.

“What?” He said, yawning.

He looked to see her head on his chest. “Did we…? Did we sleep like this…?” He said, his face burning red.

“Um… Yeah… Good thing we woke up early, I can’t imagine how horribly Crabbe and Goyle would treat us.” Lydia’s face turned slightly pink as well.

Draco laughed. “Please, I bet Crabbe can’t even spell his own name right.” He screwed up his face and mimicked writing. “C-R-A- No, no, no… K-R-… No, that’s not it…”

They both burst into laughter and stood up, walking hand in hand to the dining hall.

They saw Harry, Ron, and Hermione already sitting down.

There were so little people there, they decided to just sit together.

“Hi!” Lydia greeted them. She sat down next to Ron and Draco sat on her other side.

Ron waved, but kept shoveling food into his mouth. Hermione was staring at him with a disgusted look on her face. Harry turned to her and laughed slightly. “Your hair.”

She looked down at the silver plate and saw that it was extremely messy.

She started trying to fix it furiously and Draco was doing the same.

“Restless sleep?” Asked Hermione, trying hard not to look at Ron.

“Um… I guess you could say that.” Lydia glanced at Draco whose cheeks were already pink and she could tell (even without looking at her reflective plate) that hers were too.

Harry burst out laughing. “You guys slept together? How did you even get into each other’s dormitories?”

Hermione was giggling too.

Ron choked on his food and glared at Draco (though Lydia didn’t get why).

“It was an accident! And it was on the couch, I can’t get into her dormitory and she can’t get into mine…” Draco said, his cheeks burning even more.

“Actually, she can. The girls can get into the boys dormitories because they’re more trustworthy. I read it in Hogwarts, A History.” Hermione added.

Lydia had grabbed a piece of toast and was nibbling on it, trying to ignore Hermione’s babbling and Harry’s laughter.

“We’re not a couple, just friends, so don’t think anything of it!” Said Draco.

“Wait for a couple of years.” She heard Hermione mumble.

“So, Halloween’s in a couple days.” Ron said, keen to change the subject.

She saw Draco nod his head, looking slightly less red in the cheeks.

Blimey, Lydia thought, this year went by so quickly.

“Speaking of which, are you all going home for Christmas holiday?” Hermione asked. The others nodded yes.

“Lydia?” asked Harry. “Um… My parents don’t really want me back for Christmas.”

Outrage burst from the four of her friends.

“It’s okay! Staying here is fine!” Lydia exclaimed, surprised at their reactions.

Draco stood up quickly.

“Where are you going, Charms doesn’t start for another ten minutes!” Lydia said. “To write a letter telling my father that I’m staying here for the holidays. I’m not leaving you here alone, Dia.”

She smiled at him. “Are you sure?”

“She won’t be alone.” Ron said stiffly. “I’m staying too, now.” Lydia grinned at Ron and took his hand from across the table.

“Thanks, Ron.” He smiled and held her hand.

Ron turned to Draco. “You should see your father. Don’t worry, I’m not going to kill her, or anything.” He said, seeing Draco’s slightly worried expression.

Ron chuckled slightly. “I’ll make sure Fred and George are on their best behavior.” Fred and George were Ron’s older twin brothers, and the ultimate tricksters and Hogwarts. As hilarious as they were, they weren’t always completely trustworthy.

Draco looked at Lydia. “I’ll be fine, Draco, don’t worry.”

“Okay…” He said finally as he sat back down.

Harry and Hermione were staring at the three of them suspiciously.

“I’ll have to stay here too, then.” Harry said, then added after Lydia opened her mouth, “And nobody’s gonna change my mind.”

“I wish I could stay with you guys, but my parents have already been worried about all this wizardry stuff. I have to see them.” Hermione said, sadly.

“It’s okay, Hermione.” Lydia said, smiling.

She looked at her watch. “Oh no!” She let go of Ron’s hand and waved goodbye at them all.

“Come on, Draco, Charms starts in three minutes!”

Draco and Lydia both took off running to get to Charms (hopefully) on time for once.
