I slowly opened my eyes as sunlight slowly trickled into the room. Checking the clock and seeing that it was midnight, I pulled the warm blanket closer to me and rolled over to face my husband, making him smile tiredly at me.

"What are you doing awake, honey?" He asked, pushing some of my hair behind my ear.

"I don't know..." I groaned. "But I know I won't be able to get back to sleep. Knowing Haru, he'll probably be up soon and want breakfast." With that remark, he chuckled and held me close to him, making small circle on my waist with his hand.

"Well, at least we know he's our kid." He sighed. "I still can't believe we've been together since high school..."

Keishin was right. We had met in middle school through mutual friends and started dating in our first year of high school. Five years later, he proposed to me. Another two years, and we had a child together and we were finally a small family. I know lots of people dream of having this, and I guess I got lucky.

"Yeah. Heck, it's our seventh wedding anniversary today."

"You say that like I forgot." Keishin chuckled, kissing the top of my head as I sighed in content.

"I never said you forgot..." I sighed, snuggling closer into my beloved's chest. I was about to fall asleep, when:

"Mama, papa!" Someone's up bright and early.

"Well, you called it, baby." I heard Keishin whisper as he got up, leaving me to miss his warmth. "Let's leave mama sleep for a little while longer and I'll make you some food, buddy." I heard my husband say as I rolled over and went back to sleep.

I guess all our friend were right when they said we'd last forever...
