Song: Animal I Have Become - Three Days Grace

We finally reach the kingdom of Domnall a week later. It took a few days for Lillith to get past seeing her little brother, but now her focus is simply on her nerves. She's still concerned that she's going to mess something up while we're here. Master told us that he will be meeting with Prince Covan in the morning so we can relax in the meantime. We have to of course be respectful and do what we can to not offend the prince. Kiki and Mitsuhide leave with Master to get settled in, leaving me with Lillith and Deilan. Deilan is one of the prince's attendants and is supposed to hang around us tonight. It's a trust issue for sure, but it's nothing we can't handle.

"So, Lillith, what do you feel like doing tonight?" I ask as I put my arm around her waist.

Deilan has been eyeing her since we arrived and after a few looks between us, Lillith and I decided to see how annoyed we can make him before he gives up.

"Hm, I'm not sure Darling. Anything would be fine as long as I was with you." She croons as she smiles up at me, her eyes are betraying how badly she wants to laugh though.

"You're just the sweetest." I grin, my eyes meeting his dark glare. "Why don't we take a walk together? I love to see the moonlight shining off your beautiful golden hair." I smirk as his glare darkens. "I'm just the luckiest man in the world, aren't I?"

Deilan has finally left us alone for the night. After a long, almost nauseating walk through the gardens with him trailing behind us, he dismissed himself after we assured him we could make our way safely to our room. He was absolutely livid watching us pretend to be in love. I look down at Lillith shortly after Deilan disappears from sight and she finally breaks.

"Oh my, that was the most fun I've had in a while!"

"You did great. He was so mad!"

"I blame you and how the moonlight 'shined off my golden hair'." She snickers. "Garak would have had a heart attack if she heard us. I'm fairly certain she would have believed we were in love."

"We'd never hear the end of it if she did. I mean, she already does."

"True. So now that we got rid of our babysitter, what now?"

I wake up and stretch before opening my eyes. I fell asleep curled up in a chair in the room Lillith and I had to share after we argued for an hour over who would sleep in the bed or not. She wanted me to take the bed but I wasn't going to do that to her. It's still dark outside, I must not have slept long, but Lillith isn't in the room. As I start to sit up, I hear her hushed voice drifting through the cracked door. She's angry, whoever she's talking to. It's probably Mitsuhide teasing her about the bet... Oh someone just punched someone. That can't be good. I head toward the door as more sounds of fighting reach my ears.

"Get your hands off me before I rip your spine out through your mouth." Lillith growls and as I open the door, I find Deilan pinning her to the wall by her throat.

"Let her go or I'll kill you myself." He drops her and when he turns I notice the growing bruise around his eye.

Lillith comes over to me and I automatically place her behind me.

"What happened?" I ask her as I glare at him, my hand reaching for a dagger.

"I woke up to knocking and thought it was something important. When I got out here he tried to come onto me so I punched him."

"Go find Master and tell him what happened." I tell her.

It takes about an hour to get everything settled with Master and Prince Covan, who was summoned by Master. As much as I wanted to beat Deilan within an inch of his life for putting his hands on her, with how touchy this situation is I couldn't risk ruining Master's plans with the alliance. Prince Covan actually apologized to us for the trouble and promised Deilan would be punished. Master and Mitsuhide return to their rooms and I turn to Lillith to ask if she's okay. She nods but I can tell she's lying. Physically she is fine, beyond possibly her hand being sore from punching him, but mentally I think she's struggling a little.

"Come on, let's go back in to rest."

I lead her back into the room and once she's settled in bed again, I go to sit on the chair but she grabs my wrist.

"Will you lay with me? Just until I fall asleep?"

"I- uh, sure."

She laughs and shakes her head. "You are so nervous about bedrooms aren't you?"

"Only when women are involved because it could ruin their reputation for being in a room with a man." I explain.

"Let people think what they will, the truth is the only thing that holds bearing in my life." She shrugs.

I sigh and hesitantly lie down beside her but make sure to keep some space between us.

As the sun starts to rise, I open my eyes and realize that I fell asleep in the bed with Lillith. I hadn't intended on it but she seemed to be comfortable while she started to fall asleep again and I guess I fell asleep too. My eyes widen as she shifts in her sleep and I finally notice that we somehow ended up with her face resting against my chest with my arms around her. That's unexpected. I slowly start to try to free myself without waking her but every move I make seems to only make it worse. I sigh and resign to my fate. We don't have to go find our hiding places for the meeting for another hour, then two hours later the meeting will happen.
