Chapter eight: Chase and Jake can fall off a cliff for all I care.

Without any company, the weekend flew by quicker than I had anticipated. I went through all my activities on Sunday and before I knew it, Monday was just rearing its head. I made sure to go to bed early so that I could catch up on my rest and let my muscles rebuild. When I arose on the school morning, I shut off my alarm while stifling a yawn and made my way to the bathroom.

Grabbing my toothbrush and paste, I squirted a bit on and stuck the ergonomic device into my mouth. When I was done, I spat out and rinsed out my mouth. The result was that I had gotten rid of my morning breath and I was feeling slightly more conscious than a few moments ago. Splashing some water onto my face, I then dried it off and headed towards the direction of my closet.

I pulled out a dark purple sweat pants and paired them with a floral yellow blouse. Looking down at my outfit in the mirror, I decided to comb through my hair, and do a little braid with my bangs and some pieces of hair to add the braid to the messy bun on the back of my head. Now that most of my hair was out of my face, I headed back into the washroom to apply my makeup.

I'm not going to bore you with the procedure of how I apply, but basically all I do is add foundation, concealer and other products to cover up most of my flaws. Done with my face, I grabbed my bag and made my way down the stairs to have my breakfast. I gave everyone greetings and sat down to begin eating the food placed in my spot that I normally sit in. It seems that daddy must have left already for a meeting or something because it was only me and the cook. My mother also wasn’t present at the table so I assumed that she was busy as well and would eat later or had already eaten.

Downing my orange juice to wash down the scrumptious pancakes, I placed my dishes in the sink and bid everyone good bye as I made my way to my car. Unlocking it and hopping in, I threw my bag into the passenger seat before strapping in. In no time, I was cruising down the roads and mentally preparing myself for the school week ahead of me.

Monday and Tuesday seemed to fly by and before I knew it, the day of the week was Wednesday. The past two days were normal in the sense that Chase snarled rude comments at me with the help of his buddy Jake. As usual I made no move to act upon it and went along with my sorry excuse for a life. The only thing that had keep me from really taking their words to heart and allowing the emotions felt at school to come home with me, was the music room I had discovered the previous week.

I had snuck in there after school and relished the serenity the room had brought me like no other. I made it a routine to place a black board over the panel that people could look in so I wouldn’t be caught. I also made it a habit to lock the door so no one could enter on me. It was quite relaxing to not have to wear my glasses and beanie in the school because after a while, the pressure of having to keep up with that gets tiring.

Ditching my glasses for contacts and my beanie for waves cascading down my back, I pulled out my notebook and grabbed an acoustic guitar. Strumming a few strings, I brushed my fringe from my eyes and settled down into the comfortable sofa located in one corner of the room. Normally when I come up with lyrics, I base them on anything that’s going on at the moment, ya know? I sat there for a few moments until word the words flowed through my head.

I am broken

Who will fix me

I am lying here all alone

No one seems to care

They just watch me

I wish I had someone here for me.
