The next morning, Sarah woke up to a banging on her door.
"Sarah, get up." Hank says from the other side of the door.
Sarah let out a tired groan before looking over to her alarm clock. "It's still early." She says, "I still got plenty of time before I have to get to school."
"I just got a call from the police station." Hank says.
This got Sarah's attention. She quickly got out of bed and went to her door, opening it slightly.
"Is it about Billy?" She asked, "What did they say?"
"They just got the phone records. They're letting him go. Now get dressed. We gotta go pick him up." Hank says.
Sarah nodded and shut the door before getting dressed. She threw on a pair of slightly distressed jeans, her black boots, and a black tank top with a yellow shirt over it that had a wrap look and a small knot tied near her right hip. She then brushed her hair and added some light makeup before she and her dad went to pick up Billy from the police station. After that, they went back home so the two could finish getting ready for school.
"I want you guys to come straight home after school." Hank says, "And no making plans to go anywhere without talking with me first."
Sarah and Billy gave a half-hearted "yeah" before leaving.
"I knew it wasn't you." Sarah says as they are walking to school. "It had to have been a misunderstanding."
"I was lucky, wasn't I?" Billy responded, "So, how much trouble did you get in for lying?"
"Surprisingly, not a lot." Sarah answers, "Dad was pissed, of course, but all he did was ground me from TV for the week. I was honestly expecting worse."
"Guess he was in a good mood." Billy jokes. "Have you heard from Sidney? She pissed at me?" He suddenly asked.
"I don't know." Sarah responds. "Didn't exactly get to have that girl's night at Tatum's. After what happened, Dad said I couldn't go and made me stay home. If I see her, I'll ask."
The two walked in silence after that. before meeting up with Rose and Stu, where they talked for a bit until they split up for class. Billy went off on his own while Sarah, Rose, and Stu met up with Tatum and Sidney.
"Hey Sarah. Things go okay at home?" Tatum asks.
"Okay enough." Sarah responds. "I'm more concerned about Sidney. You doing okay?"
"I think so. We'll see." Sidney responds. "I haven't seen Billy around. Is he really pissed?"
"After you branded him the Candyman? Of course not! His heart's broken." Stu says before Rose smacks him.
"Didn't seem like it, but I don't know to be honest." Sarah replies, "He was just asking me earlier if I knew whether or not you were pissed at him."
Suddenly, someone in a Ghost costume came running down the halls, screaming wildly in the process.
"Why are they doing this?" Sidney asks.
"Are you kidding me?" Stu replies, "Look at this place, it's like Christmas."
Rose turned and smacked him again. "Stupidity leak." She says, right before Sidney ran off. Tatum called after her, but got no response.
The bell rang and the rest of the group split off for class. Things were more or less going normally until an announcement was made and everyone was forced outside. A later announcement was made cancelling classes and a 9:00 PM curfew until the killer was caught. Everyone was being sent home for the day, so Sarah went to switch out her books from her locker, where Rose later approached her.
