Chapter 4

Lia's Pov

Whoo! School is finally finished! I was on my way to pick up Chae from her locker when someone called my name. 

"Lia!" I turned around and saw Yeji walking towards me.

"Hey, Yeji." 

"Hi um, I was just wondering if you can give this to Chaeryeong?" she handed me a letter. I have a feeling I know what this is, I shrieked inside when a great idea popped into my mind. 

"Wait, are you free right now? I need someone to replace me. Chae and I are supposed to arrange some stuff for the school's next event." I said.

"Yeah, of course!" she replied. You'll thank me later for this Chaeryeong. 

"Okay, I need you to go to Charlie's Cafe, Chaeryeong will be there waiting for you and you can then give her your letter. My mom called earlier saying she needs me home after school so I can't make it. Is that cool with you?" her eyes lit up and nodded happily. I continued to explain what I needed her to do.

"Alright, thank you so much Yeji." 

"No problem, I'm glad I could help," she said and headed out her way. 

I made my way to the bus because it's the only transportation available for me to get home since my family only have one car. 

At the corner of my eyes, I saw Ryujin getting escorted to her vehicle. I remembered the incident that happened earlier, she was the very first person who stood up for me even if it was an accident or on purpose and I'll never forget that. 

When I got home, my mother was waiting for me in the kitchen. 

"My dear, how was school?" she asked. She was dressed up in a fancy dress with heavy makeup on.

"It was fine, are you going somewhere?"

"Ahhh, I was actually gonna talk to you about this. My best friends from high school have invited your dad and me to dinner tonight. Their daughter just came back from the U.S and they wanted me to bring you so she could have someone to hang out with." she replied while putting her earrings on.

"But I have a lot of things to do tonight," I whined because I didn't wanna go, I was way too tired to entertain someone.

"Lia, please do this for your mother." she pleaded. 

"Okay, okay I will." I gave in and kissed her cheek.

"Dress up as best as you can, this family that you are about to meet aren't just ordinary people." I was so confused but did as I was told. 

Ryujin's Pov

After I got home from school, I immediately ran to my room and collapsed on the bed. Today was not what I expected it to be, my identity was revealed to the whole school. I just hope I won't be treated differently now that they know about my status.

I sighed and changed into my regular clothes. I can't wait to eat that entire bowl of rocky road ice cream sitting in the fridge and binge-watch my favorite show. I've already done my homework in advance so I can have a peaceful night. 

My phone suddenly dinged, I went to go check it and saw that my mother has sent me a text. "Ryujinah, I need you to dress up. We are going out for dinner."  Oh, you've got to be kidding me.  I groaned and replied with a thumbs up. 

I got dressed and went downstairs to wait for my parents. My personal bodyguard signaled me to come out as the vehicle came upon the driveway. My parents were dressed up in their usual business clothes. 

"Sweetheart, how was your first day?" my mom asks. 

"It was okay, Yeji and Yuna helped me a lot with my classes." I left the lunch incident knowing what their reaction would be if I did tell them. 

"I'm glad it went well." my father said. We continued to talk about our day while we waited for our arrival at the restaurant.

The Shin family then arrived at their destination. Ryujin scanned the place and it seemed fancy and private, that type of restaurant that only celebrities or important people would go to. 

There were guards up front waiting for their arrival, soon they were guided to their own room. This was all new to Ryujin since in the U.S she wasn't guarded all the time. She had freedom until she came back home. Ryujin thought that her parents must be doing excellent with their business. 

"Start looking at what you want to eat sweetie. Good friends of mine from high school will be joining us." Ryujiin's mother said. 

After a while, a knock on the door was heard.

"Ma'am and Sir, your company is here." a guard tells.

"Let them in." Mr. Shin replied.

Two figures then came into the room, Mrs. Shin stood up and greeted them with open arms. 

A girl entered the room shyly looking up, nervous because she thinks she's under dressed for this dinner. 

Ryujin looked at the person who came in last and she was surprised, " Lia?" she asked in her mind.

Lia's eyes found Ryujins and quickly looked away. "Holy shit, why is she here?" she asked herself. "She's the daughter of your parent's best friends, dumbass." her inner voice answered. 

"This is an amazing reunion!" Mr. Shin voiced out.

"It is indeed, Mr. Shin." Lia's father said.

"No need to be so formal my friend. Let's enjoy this night, shall we?" 

"We shall." The two father figures laughed and started their own conversation.

"Ryujin, come here." Mrs. Shin called her daughter. "Honey, meet Choi Jisu. My best friends daughter."

"H-Hi." Lia cursed at herself for stuttering again. 

"Hello, Lia."  Ryujin greeted her. 

"You guys know each other?" Lia's mom asked.

"Yes ma'am, I actually met her today at school." 

"Well then, I hope you guys become good friends. I've set up a different room for you two since we will be talking about adult topics and this way you can get to know about each other more." 

Lia and Ryujin entered their room. A table was placed in the middle for them to eat, there was also a mini tv and a couch they can relax on.

The younger girl in the room made her way to the table and pulled the chair out for Lia, "Don't be shy, come on." Ryujin said.

Lia nodded and sat on the chair. Her hands were shaking realizing that she was alone with Shin Ryujin. She kept looking down and biting her lip not sure how to start a conversation.

Ryujin looked at her and noticed her actions, "She's adorable." 

Alright, I'm backkkkkk. I apologize for not updating for a week. I've been busy with school work :(  I'll update twice in a row since I feel bad. I am sorry if this chapter is quite boring, the next one will be better! The two girls will finally have their own moment, I hope you guys are liking it so far ;)
