"What is it?" I fiddled nervously as Makoto and I stood behind the locker room. He blushed and was obviously nervous. I know he gets flustered easily, so whatever this is must be pretty important.

"What happened that night?" He asked. "When I saved you during training camp. I know you felt it, too." I finally looked up into his eyes and remembered the last time something like this happened. All those years ago...

Flashback

"So you're really going?" Makoto asked sadly as I waited for the train to come that would take me away from Iwatobi.

"Yeah..." I answered. I wanted to stay with Haru, but I felt like I needed my parents for just a little bit longer. So I chose to move with them. "I'm sorry."

"Don't be." Makoto smiled even though I could tell he was holding back tears. "If this makes you happy, then do it."

"U-Um..." I blushed as I played with the letter behind my back. Cliché, I know, but I was too nervous to tell him my feelings in person. I think he feels the same way about me, but what if he really doesn't?

"What's wrong?" He asked.

"Nothing." I shook my head and hid the letter in my back pocket. "I'm really going to miss you, Makoto." I smiled sadly as I gave him one last hug.

"I'm going to miss you too, Sakura." Even as kids, he was always so much bigger than me. "The train's here."

"Okay then." I pulled away from him and grabbed my luggage. "I'll see you soon." I smiled.

"Yeah." He nodded and I walked to the train with my parents. A few tears slid down my cheeks as I waved to Makoto from inside the train. He waved back and the train slowly started moving forward. The second he was out of sight, I regretted not giving him that letter.

Flashback end

I'm not going to make that mistake again. "I love you." I finally confessed. He blushed in shock as I smiled in pride as I finally told him. "I have ever since we were kids. I was going to tell you before I left, but-" I was cut off as his lips were suddenly pressed against mine. It shocked me a lot, but I guess love makes you act different.

"I love you, too." He said as he pulled away. Tears of happiness filled my eyes as I tightly hugged him. "I was going to tell you too, but I was so afraid that you didn't feel the same."

"I did, I always did." I smiled as I laid my head against his chest, feeling his heart going a million miles a minute.

"Will you... Will you go out with me?" He nervously asked.

"Of course!" I exclaimed as I kissed him once more.

"Ahem." I heard someone cough behind us.

"Haru!" I quickly separated from Makoto as I didn't know what to say to him.

"It's okay. Makoto talked to me earlier." Haru said calmly.

"What?!"

"Yeah..." Makoto chuckled.

"Yay! I knew it!" Kou cheered as the whole team came out from behind the locker room.

"Were you guys there the whole time?!" I asked.

"More or less." Ms. A shrugged. "Now seriously, we have a big day tomorrow. Get some rest."

"Yes, ma'am." We all laughed and joked until we made it to our own homes. I held Makoto's hand until we reached his house, but Ms. A was right. We had a big day tomorrow.
