Rei and I quietly but quickly snuck back into the stands as the medley swimmers were lining up. "Men's medley relay, second heat." The announcer said.
"Makoto!" We cheered as he jumped into the water. The whistle blew several times before the gun finally went off.
"They're already in third place!" Cosch Sasabe said as Nagisa finished up his lap. "Now pass it on to Rei-" I chuckled as everyone's faces shifted to confusion. Instead of Rei, Rin was standing there on the pedestal, ready to take his part in the relay.
Rin smiled as he put his goggled on. I don't think I've seen him smile like that in a very long time. "Go, Rin!" Nagisa yelled.
I covered my mouth as I attempted to hold back my tears. There was no telling what the boys were seeing and feeling when they entered the water, but I knew that this was just like old times.
We all cheered as Haru raced to the end of the pool. My eardrums nearly exploded as we all took notice of the scoreboard. We won first place!
The team was all smiling brightly as Makoto helped Haru out of the water. Then out of the blue, Rin ran to Haru and hugged him. Makoto and Nagisa joined in, making it a group hug. We asked for beautiful, and that's exactly what we got.
Rei, Kou and I rushed down the stands and to where the team was talking. Everything seemed back to normal. First I hugged my brother tightly. "That was beautiful, Haru!" I smiled.
"Thank you." He smiled, hugging me back.
Then I walked over and hugged Rin, nostalgia filling me. "Please never quit swimming again." I whispered.
"You got it." He chuckled. Finally I walked over to where Makoto was smiling with a few happy tears running down his cheeks.
"You guys did it." I smiled. "You're all a team again."
"Yeah, we are." He smiled and wrapped his arms around me. I leaned up and kissed him.
I may have not been in the water that day, but I can assure you that it was all a sight we'll never forget.
