By the time Midnight had announced the next part of the festival, you were feeling honestly pretty horrible about yourself. How could you expect to be an advocate for Pokemon if you were holding yourself back. You wanted to promise yourself that you would do better this round, but you just knew that deep down it wouldn't happen while whatever was holding you back was still there.
But, you probably weren't feeling as bad as Midoriya was about to.
"The points are distributed by order of placement!" Midnight called out. Having placed in 16th place, you had 175 points. (Idk if that's right, just go with it). Unfortunately for your green haired friend, he had 10 million points.
"I can't believe this. How am I supposed to do anything with these 10 million points over my head. No one's gonna want to team up with me." Midoriya was muttering to himself after Midnight had told everyone to get into teams. Although you would love to be on a team like Bakugou or Todoroki to ensure your spot in the final round, you knew that they wouldn't trust you, considering you had never shown them your quirk. So, you were going to try to convince Midoriya to let you on his team.
"Hey Midoriya-kun," you sent him a small wave. He looked up at you, tears in his eyes. "Can I team up with you?"
If Midoriya wasn't mumbling before, he certainly was now. He said something that sounded like 'are you serious? Tell me you're not..." and then he started crying.
You raised an eyebrow. "Uh, yeah. I'm serious."
"You know everyone's going to be after us, right?" He said. "I get it if you don't want to team with me."
You sighed. "Midoriya-kun. I've never shown you my quirk. I'm surprised you're even letting me on your team. So far as you know, I'm basically quirkless."
Something in your words seemed to hit Midoriya differently. He gave you a nod. "I know. But I trust you, (L/n)-chan."
Those five words made you want to cry. It was the nicest sentence anyone had ever said to you, and you loved the small green haired boy even more than you had before. You were tempted to hug him, but he probably would have died from embarrassment.
You hadn't realized you two were staring at each other until Ochako interrupted you. "Hey, Deku, (L/n)-chan! Let's team up!"
"Uraraka-chan, really?" Midoriya now looked like he was about to cry again. "Are you sure? Everyone's going to be after me and my ten million stupid points."
You placed your hand on his shoulder. "Dude, don't doubt yourself. There's a reason you got first place in the obstacle course, and it wasn't because Bakugou or Todoroki let you win." Ochako nodded as Midoriya started crying, his tears practically breaking the ground below him.
"We still need another person," Midoriya said after he stopped crying. "But who?"
You looked to your right and smiled. "Don't worry, Midoriya-kun. I know just who to ask."

"The cavalry battle is about to begin!" Midnight announced. "Let's give some cheers of encouragement to our students before they start." The crowd burst into cheers, making you even more nervous.
"Ready guys?" Midoriya asked from the top of your cavalry pyramid. "Uraraka-chan?"
"Yeah!" Ochako cheered. She was at the back of the formation so she could use her quirk to fly the group in case of emergency.
"(L/n)-chan?"
You nodded slightly. "I guess so." You were on the other back side. The group still didn't know your quirk, so you decided to be in the back to be out of the way.
