Chapter Sixteen

"Aw man, I can't believe I failed the second part of the exam..." Kirishima sighed, rubbing the back of his neck awkwardly. "That's so embarrassing..." He opened the glass doors of the shopping mall to let his two friends in before him, it was the gentlemanly thing to do, after all.

Sero nodded in agreement, looking down at the floor slightly. "Yeah, I know how you feel...I can't believe Mineta-san passed and I didn't..." He sighed. "That's like, even more embarrassing than that time I got my pants pulled down in front of the whole junior high last year... And now I'm reliving that, so that's great..."

"Yeah, yeah, we failed that part of the exam, but think about all the good things!" Kaminari, unlike the other two, was bouncing up and down in excitement. "We still get to go to the training camp, and even better, everyone passed the written exam, which includes me! That means I get to go on a date with (Y/n)-chan!" He sighed happily as the group of three boys stepped into Kiyashi Ward Shopping Mall where they were meeting most of their classmates.

Meanwhile, you were standing with the larger group as you all waited for the last few people to show up, chatting happily with Tokoyami and Dark Shadow. It had started after you had seen the bird boy's perfectly manicured and painted nails, and you then proceeded to make him promise to do your nails sometime. Your outfit was pretty casual, just some shorts and a t-shirt from your favorite band, which you had a nice conversation about with Jirou.

"Okay, I think everyone's here," Mina announced, looking around the group before clapping her hands loudly. "Awesome! So, let's go shopping in some groups, alright! Make sure you get all the stuff you need on your list and we'll meet back here in a couple hours. Let's go!" She then took off running, dragging Momo and Hagakure behind her.

You pulled out your Pokedex-phone contraption and looked at the notepad, which had a list of things you needed. Most of it was basic, like sunscreen and snacks. Luckily, you already had a bathing suit, which meant you wouldn't be subjected to 'Mina's Bikini Bonanza' as she called it.

"Hey, (Y/n)-chan, wanna walk around with us?" You turned away from Tokoyami to see Sero's bright smile, along with Kirishima and Kaminari behind him. Not really having had the chance to hang out with them for a while, you nodded happily.

"Yeah, of course," you grinned. "What do you guys need to get? I just need sunscreen and some snacks for the trip."

Kaminari bowed dramatically. "Ah, yes, my Queen. Whatever you wish, you shall obtain!" He then looked up at you and grinned cheekily. "But, do you need to get a bathing suit or something? Because I'm down to watch you-"! He was cut off by a hit to the back of the head with Kirishima's activated quirk. "Hey, that hurt!"

"You shouldn't say those kinds of things to a lady," Kirishima lectured him. "It's not manly at all, dude!"

You and Sero made eye contact, giving each other mutual looks of "what the fuck is happening?". So, you grabbed the black haired boy's wrist and pulled him into the mall, turning back to see Kaminari and Kirishima looking after you.

"Hurry up, slowpokes," you called back, causing them to run quickly towards you.

Kaminari had a small frown on his face. "Heyyyy...how come Sero-kun gets to hold your hand and I don't...?" He narrowly avoided being hit by the redhead for the second time. Rolling your eyes, you let go of Sero's hand, much to his inward disappointment.

"And to answer your question, Kaminari-kun, I already have a bathing suit," you said, heading into a store that was filled with snack foods that you liked to come to because it was cheap and you worked a minimum wage job. "But nice try, though."
