"So, he's not dead?"

There was no one at the Sunset Cafe, not that there ever was, so you figured it would be a good place to meet up with Shinso. Besides, he and Kosho had actually become pretty good friends because the purple haired boy came there all the time (although Kosho swore that it was only whenever you were working). The day was ending as the two of you sat in one of paint-chipped booths by the wall, the warm orange sun setting behind the buildings across the way. It was nice, but it just made you incredibly tired. It was the last day of your break before heading back to Yuuei after your internships, and the lack of sleep from worrying about Pikachu was really starting to catch up to you. In fact, you really felt like Shinso, since you were still wearing his purple cat sweatshirt - you had refused to give it back, it was super comfortable.

Speaking of the tired boy, he was right. Pikachu was indeed not dead. You couldn't explain exactly how you knew it, since when you tried to summon him, your quirk wouldn't allow it for some reason, but there was something inside you that just knew that if he was dead, you would be aware of it. Of course, that feeling could always be wrong, but it was probably best to just go with your gut and maybe get more than thirty minutes of sleep per night.

You shrugged. "Not that I'm aware of, at least. None of my Pokemon have ever died on me, so I don't really know what would happen, but I'm pretty sure I would be aware." Looking down at the table, you picked up your (f/drink) and sipped, trying to keep your mind off of anything horrible. "At least I can still summon my other Pokemon, since that would be pretty bad, considering we're going back to school tomorrow. Speaking of which, did Aizawa-sensei ever talk to you about moving you to 1-A?"

Shinso grinned, happy to change to subject away from something that was upsetting you. "Yeah," he said, leaning back in the booth. "I've actually been training with him at some gym ever since the end of the Sports Festival."

"Oh," you gasped. "Wait, I think I know which one you're talking about. He takes me there to train, too." It had been a while since he had taken you, but you had been gone to your internship for a while; training would likely start up again soon. "Wait, I just had a great idea! We should train together!"

"Without me?" Kosho had walked over, getting tired of hanging out by himself behind the counter. "I thought we were all best friends, I even created a group name for us: 'The Best Friend Gang'. Creative, right?" Thankfully, having known him for so long, you knew he was being sarcastic, so you rolled your eyes. He slid into the booth next to you, brushing off his apron, and collapsed dramatically onto the table.

Shinso chuckled. "You mean you want to come train with us at the gym?" Kosho's eyes widened at the thought of actually having to do something, and he shook his head fervently.

"Nevermind," he waved his hands in the air. "I didn't think we were talking about working out, I thought Hitoshi-kun had finally asked you out on a date like he's been wanting to, (Y/n)-chan."

Your face erupted into a blush, as did Shinso's, and he turned away to look out the window. You gave Kosho a not-so-light slap on the shoulder and took another gulp of your drink. "Kosho-kun, shut up! I'm sure if he wanted to ask me out, he would have done it already. And anyways, you shouldn't embarrass him like that!" Now you couldn't make eye contact with either of them without feeling awkward.

The first one to break the silence was Shinso, which he did with a light cough as he moved to the outer edge of the booth. "Well," he said awkwardly. "I should probably go. I'll see you guys later." And with that, he gave a small wave and hurried out of the cafe, leaving you as a blushing mess.

"Kosho-kun, what the fuck?" You turned to your best friend, who had a smug grin on his face. "That was so embarrassing. For me, yeah, but I'm sure for him, too."
