My Hero Academia: What We Fight For (Izuocha)

(Arc 3) Chapter Five - Deku vs. Shinso

I stared at Shinso, who had a smile on his face as he just challenged me to a fight. It was a random request, but I think he really wanted to show what he has learned from that battle.

"So, do you accept?" He asked me.

"Yes."

"Okay, but I request that I can use my support gear. Otherwise, I'd be at a big disadvantage" he said.

"Sure, only if I can use mine" I stated, smirking.

He looked confused until I patted my metal prosthetic. Little knew since I hadn't personally used it, but Hatsume designed it to be a battle item as well as a functional prosthetic.

"Sounds fair to me. Let me see what you can do this time, but use your quirk. I live a challenge" he said smirking.

"Come on, Izuku! Show him who's boss!" Ochako yelled.

"You got this, Shinso! Show em' you can do anything!" Kirishima yelled.

"Both of you better give it your all or I'll blast both if you to hell!" Kacchan yelled to us.

I guess Shinso has made some new friends. We got on opposite sides of the course.

"I'm thankful I got into the hero course. So I'm gonna show why I've earned it." Shinso stated. "You ready?"

I began to speak, but I could see the twinkle in his eye. I knew what he was trying to do. I glared at him and nodded. He chuckled.

"Clever boy, Midoriya. Your move" he said, standing completely still.

"Alright, y'all another match is commencing!" Euphoria said doing a pose.

The ring was still damaged from mine and Iida's battle, so running carelessly would cause me to trip. He has something planned, I just know it. I need to save my support gear for the right moment, though. I decided to rush him straight on, but he didn't move.

It I'm quick, I can just push him out!

Once I got close, he quickly raised his hands, showing four connected rings on his main fingers. They immediately let off a flash as it blinded my eyesight. He then used his leg to sweep mine, knocking me off my feet.

"That Hatsume girl designed these for me. It blinds the enemy for a few seconds, and the martial arts I practiced are for fending off any villains in case they don't answer my questions. Cool, huh?" He stated.

I once again didn't answer as my eyesight came back. I rushed him again as he raised his hand quickly, but I slid, dodging his flash and going behind him through his legs. I then did a sweep at his legs and he fell. Everyone cheered around us.

He got back up as I charged up a kick. I jumped and swung my leg, but he caught it and slammed me down. I got back up and he ran around, dodging two of my kicks.

He's been practicing for sure.

He then raised his other hand, showing another set of rings, which also looked like brass knuckles. I jumped back and they went off and I realized they were his capture device, shooting a strong net at me which I barely dodged.

I took the moment, and aimed my prosthetic before pressing the button underneath a panel, and a scope popped up. It caught him by surprise as I pressed the button again, launching the fist at him. He jumped out of the way just in time as it crashed into the ground and rolled out of bounds.

Great, I can't retrieve it!

"I'm impressed, but this needs to end" Shinso stated.
