(Arc 3) Chapter Eleven - Family Day

       Today was the day many had been looking forward to, Family Day. It was a day where parents came to camp and visited their kids and spent the day with them. For others, it was exciting as they got to see their parents for the first time in over a month. For Ochako and I? Well...

     "Shoot! What are we gonna do?!" I questioned very nervously.

     "I don't know I totally forgot about today!" Ochako answered, nervous as well.

     "What are you two so nervous about? It's just family visiting, how bad can it be?" Ojiro asked.

     We were sitting in the mess hall during lunch with Mirio's cabin, eating out food.

     "Our parents haven't met each other yet!" Ochako stated.

     "And they're polar opposites. Her parents can be strict and my mom is extremely happy-go-lucky, so we're afraid if they see each other and meet, they won't get along" I stated.

     "That's a fairly good reason to be nervous. Mine and Hatsume's parents don't know we're together, so we have to make good impressions on the others parents" Iida exclaimed.

     "Oh Iida they'll love you! They're just like me!" Hatsume stayed, hugging him.

     So THAT'S the reason she's crazy!

     "I mean, you could always have them not meet!" Nejire stated.

     "What do you mean?" I asked her.

     "Well, if you keep them away from each other until the day is over, then you'll be in the clear!" Nejire stated.

      "That could work!" Ochako said, standing up. And pumping a fist into the air.

      "It could, but wouldn't they have to meet eventually though? Might as well get it over with right?" Ojiro stated.

      "Yeah they would, but we're scared for if they do. With Ochako's family, as nice as they are, they're strict with certain things. If her family doesn't like mine, it could cause lots of problems" I stayed, rubbing the back of my head.

     "I see. I haven't told my parents about Hagakure yet, since we can't have our phones. But I plan to today" Ojiro stated.

     "What's... Family day...?" Eri asked.

     We all looked at her and immediately felt sad for her Ojiro and Sero knew too, that she didn't really have a family.

     "It's... When your family comes to visit you today" Mirio stated, knowing he didn't want to say it.

     "Oh..." Eri said looking down sadly.

     Nobody knew what to say to her. She'd been lacking a true family all her life. She had nobody to depend on and nobody to... love...

     "As far as I'm concerned Eri, we're your family now!" Mirio stated. "And we'll always be here for you!"

     "Yeah, he's right. We're always gonna be here when you need us" I stated.

     "Thank you..." She said attempting to smile again.

     I hope one day she'd be able to smile.

     Euphoria rushed into the mess hall and to the mic.

     "Alright everyone, your parents will be here soon! Go ahead and get ready to meet them!" She said into the mic.

     Everyone started to get excited, even Amajiki and Nejire. Ochako and I just nervously gazed at each other.

     "Good luck. I'll try to keep her away from you guys" I told her.
