Today what the Fourth of July. For America, this would be their day to mark their independence. In Japan although, we do not celebrate it.
At camp we were. Euphoria was born and raised in America and we were told she often does this every year to celebrate her homage. Apparently, everyone enjoys it every year.
Ochako, Sero, Iida, Ojiro and I had volunteered to help set up. By the flagpole, they were finishing the building of a big stage as the volunteers laid out blankets and whatnot to watch the fireworks. There would also be a DJ and Concessions.
"I have a feeling this is gonna be fun!" Sero stated.
"I agree. I've never celebrated this holiday before!" Ochako exclaimed.
"Well that is true, it's an American tradition. Euphoria likes to celebrate it because she is from America" Iida explains.
"I didn't know she was American. Huh, learn something new everyday" Ojiro stated.
We had finished laying all the blankets out and we're able to take a break. We all sat on the grass admiring our work. Ochako sat on my lap, laying on my chest with her head next to mine. I kissed her cheek and she giggled.
"It's starting to look nice! Few more decorations and we should be finished!" Sero stated.
"Come on, you don't need to act like you enjoyed doing this. You just want the hour of phone time she promised to everyone who helped" Ojiro stated.
"Heh, yeah" he replied.
"I didn't mind doing it. I'm honestly excited to see the fireworks" I told them.
Mirio, Jiro, Kaminari and Kendo came over to us and sat down. They also volunteered to help set up in preparation for the night.
"Hey, slacking off already?" Kendo asked us.
"More like taking a break. Want a soda?" Sero asked, tossing her one.
"This is gonna be so awesome! I can imagine the fireworks now!" Kaminari stated excitedly.
"Calm down, doofus. But I agree, it's gonna be fun" Jiro stated, and Kaminari groaned over what she called him.
"And I can't wait for Eri to see them. She's never seen fireworks before and I'm so excited for her to finally experience them!" Mirio said to us.
"She's gonna love them, I guarantee it" I assured him.
Seeing Eri experience so many things was my favorite thing in the whole world. It reminded me of when I was a kid, always experiencing new things.
"Shoot, I have to do something, I'll be right back guys!" I said, and Ochako got off of me so I could get up. "You wanna come too Ochako?"
She nodded, and we ran off. I skimmed among the people around, looking.
"What're you looking for?" Ochako asked.
"I'm just looking around for- there she is!" I said, grabbing Ochako's arm and running towards the person.
It was Yaoyoruzu, who was helping set up the concession stand.
"Yaomomo, could I get your help real quick?" I asked her.
"Oh, hey Midoriya. Sure, what is it?" She asked back.
"You'll probably say no, but once I tell you why I hope you'll reconsider. I need you to make something small" I told her.
