Y/N's POV:

I look around as I pull into a parking lot. I needed money to help pay for college so I decided to be a camp counselor. Hell, I am not an outdoorsy person. What am I doing here?

I sigh, grabbing my knapsack before heading for the table that reads "Counselors, Sign in here." A boy whose name is evidently Jack smiles at me before handing me a clipboard of papers to fill out.

"After you finish filling those out, I'll take you to the main lodge where you'll meet the rest of the counselors and then I'll assign someone to give you the official tour," Jack says and I nod in response.

Finally, after way too many sheets of paper, I hand the clipboard back to Jack before following him up a small hill to a building that reads "Main Lodge."

Jack opens the door for me and I enter the lodge, shocked at how loud it is. Two boys are playing some game with a deck of cards, screaming and cursing at each other, while a girl looks over them, disinterested, but with a small smile on her face as she lets out a laugh at the boys' antics.

Jack motions for me to sit down at a table and I do so, as he goes up to the front of the room near a whiteboard. He signals for everyone to be quiet but no one pays any attention. He looks at me with a 'Will you help?' face. I nod, standing up on my table before screaming "Everyone!! Shut up and look at Jack." I smile in satisfaction as everyone stops what they are doing and looks at me. I climb off the table and turn back towards Jack.

"Thank you Y/N. Ok, now on to business. Most of you know the rules but for a couple of newbies, I'll go over them quickly."

As Jack goes over the rules I can't help but let my mind wander. I feel the glare of someone's eyes on me and I turn my head to the left to see a tall, lanky boy with brown hair staring at me. I ignore him and turn back around, tuning into whatever Jack is going over.

"Ok. Now that all of those rules are out of the way, everyone come up here and get your cabin assignments."

I wait back, as the rest of the counselors push in front of me to see who they will be bunking with for the next two months. I see Jack waving me over and I shuffle over to him, trying to avoid the countless number of adults.

"Y/N we had a little bit of a problem with cabin arrangements this year. As you can see, there are only four other girl counselors, and because our counselor cabins only fit four people in them we have a bit of an issue."

"Ok, so am I fired?" I chuckled dryly, praying that this isn't the end to my counselor career already.

"No! We would never do that. However, we do have one extra bunk but it is with a group of guy counselors so if you aren't comfortable with that then we just might have to let you go early."

So, either I lose my job or I bunk with three boys who I have never met in my life? Great.

"This would also mean that you would be in charge of boy campers instead," Jack adds.

"Ok. I guess I'll do it!" I say, trying to bring a convincing grin to my face.

"Really?! That's awesome! Thank you Y/N!"

"No problem?!" I say, already unsure of my decision.

Jack grabs my arm leading me over to a group of three boys. He explains the problem to them and they all seem fine with the iSsUe.

In the group there is a blonde curly-haired boy, a boy with an eyepatch, and a boy who was shorter than me with muscles carved by a Greek God.

I learned that none of them go by their real names and instead they all go by "camp names."

The blonde is Race, eyepatch is Kid Blink, and muscle boy is Spot.

"Race, can you guys show Y/N to your cabin and then take her on a tour of the camp?"

The blonde boy's eyes light up and he nods, before trying to grab my knapsack.

I snatch it up before he can and he tilts his head at me before gesturing for me to follow him.

Oh boy. It's going to be a long summer.
