On my own again Eponine thought, No one to to turn to at times like this. Times when I am lost. Times when I don't know who I love. She began to cry. The salty water rolled down her sharp cheeks. She began to lose it. She sat on the foul smelling cobblestone and rolled into a ball. Before she knew it the sun was rising. The dark sky turned blue. Eponine looked up and saw Marius walking through the streets.

"Marius! Marius!"

"Eponine come here!" Marius yelled as he was walking. He started to run but he suddenly ran into an older girl walking down the street with her father. She fell. Marius gasped. He reached his hand down to hers and helped her off of the street. He said nothing, instead he stared into her eyes. A lump began to form in Eponine's throat. She knew what was happening. She held back the tears and started walking towards them. The young woman finally stood up and smiled at Marius. Her father then asked her started to walk off and she followed. Marius turned towards Eponine and started to run.

"Oh Eponine! Do you know who that girl was?"

"I've seen her father before but I don't know her, I'm sorry."

"You know your way around town, right?"

"Yes..."

"Then would you lead me to her house, I would love to see her again." The second that Marius stopped speaking she nodded her head and ran. She could believe what was happening. She knew that he had fallen in love with the girl. She knew that her life could only get worse now. Tears began stream down her face. She couldn't bare the pain. Why is this happening to me, she thought. Oh Marius please, please don't do this to me! All of the sudden, her feet seemed to fly from underneath her. Her body whipped forward and she fell face first onto the street.

She stood up and touched her face. Blood dripped onto her hand and onto the streets. A crowd gathered around her. They all gasped. The next thing she knew there was an arm around her shoulders. It was Enjolras. He embraced her and lifted her off of the ground. She slowly fell asleep in his arms as he walked away.
