Eponine walked through the alleyway sobbing. The hot tears burned her face. Please, Lord please! I can't carry on much longer! I'm all alone again, with no one who cares. Without Marius my world seems dark. He makes me so happy, he's my best friend and I love him. I love him.

"I love him..." she whispered, "but he loves Cosette more than I can comprehend. He only loves me like a sister. The angry that has build up inside of me for years is starting to release. Its causing me to cry, it's causing me to want to die! What shall I do? Marius, please!"

Enjolras stood at the end of the alleyway. The words that she said peirced him. He loved her more than she knew. A man capable of being awful was filled with happiness when he saw her. He knew how poor she was and all of the suffering she had been through. The barricade he was planning to build was now for her. To help her and the people around her. The people below. He knew that he would die during the battle that he would fight so he wanted her to know that he loved her before tomorrow, before the barricade stands.

He ran towards the cafe. When he arrived, he began to write her a letter. Dearest Eponine, you wonderful sole. Stay safe tomorrow for me. I don't want you to get hurt. I love you, Eponine. If I am to die, which is most likely, do not weep, I will always live within your heart. Tears rolled down his cheek as he wrote.
