Ch 20: Unexpected turn.

It's been a week now since Scar's confession, and just the thought of it still brings a smile on my face. We have been spending a lot of time lately. She started to practice again, even though Mike is completely pissed about it. We spend a lot of time at the rink and at our forest area now. She practices and I watch her, fully concentrated, daydreaming cute fantasies.

Ace and she asked me if I would like to train with them, and as much as I wanted to say no, Scar somehow managed to convince me. So I am having my first class today. I know what would happen, I will get my ass kicked by my girl. There's no surprise to that.

She already left early to the rink, so by the time I reached there, she was already mid-warm-up. I looked around the room which would normally have other fighter training too was surprisingly empty today. It was just Scar, Ace and me.

"So, where's everyone?" I asked jumping up and down to get my blood flowing. "They will be here in the evening. Now it's all our place, and why are you jumping?" Scar asks laughing. "I am warming up okay. Now, what are we gonna do today people?" I ask excitedly.

"We will have a fight first and you watch. Then you can go against me or Scar." Ace says getting on the green fighting mat. "That sounds great, but how will I fight any of you. I don't know any moves" I shrugged.

"You don't need to know the moves to fight. The most important thing in a fight is your mind. You can take down anyone if you think and offend." Scar says getting on the mat too, ready to fight.

Ace steps up and throws a slick punch at Scar which she dodged, and then she threw a punch at him which he blocked with his arm. This goes on for a while, then suddenly Ace throws a punch at Scar which she dodges and within no time to think, she faced another punch, right on the jaw.

"Slowed down, did we, Mac?" Ace says with a smirk. "In your dreams Lenon," she says and within no time she had Ace in a neck chock. And within seconds she left him, indicating the end of the fight.

By this time both of them are completely worn off and panting for breath on the mat. "So, who do you want to go against Jacky?" Ace asks getting up. "Can I say no one. Seriously, guys, I think I am good right here, watching you." I say throwing my hands up.

"Come on, go against Ace. He knows how to train new students. Just give it a try" Scar says with her puppy eyes, to which I couldn't say no. "Okay fine. But if I die, tell mum that I died fighting like a hero" I say dramatically. "Go on my drama queen" Scar pushes me on the mat laughing.

"Dude, we had beer together, Bro you forgot all that?" I say panting. "Sorry man, I gotta do what I gotta do. This is the easiest way to train buddy." He says throwing the 100th punch at me which I manage to block. "You really good at defending you know. Its rare man, defending is Scar's only weak point. But you can be really good at it with a little training." He says getting off the mat.

Scar went to get us chilled water, so it was just Ace and me. We were both tired. He somehow looked very pale today. I failed to notice that before. "Dude, you okay?" I ask as he breaks into a fit of coughs. "Ye..yeah. I'm good" He coughs again.

"It doesn't look like that," I ask worried now. He continues coughing into a cloth. "Dude, seriously, what's wrong?" I pull him to face me, and what I see sends chills down my body. The cloth in his hands has red marks on it.

"Ace, what is that? Is that blood?" I ask and he just walks past me throwing the cloth in the dustbin. "Ace, why are you coughing blood? Are you okay" I ask running to him, he doesn't say anything.

"Ace, does Scar know about this?" I ask and he stops walking. "Scarlett is unaware and I expect it to be that way," Ace says pushing me to the wall, holding me there by my neck. "Ace, if you don't tell me what's wrong I will tell Scar and then you have to deal with her," I say not getting threatened by him. Something is wrong and I need to know.

"Meet me at Bean's cafe at 6. I will tell you whatever you want to know," he says leaving my neck and I nod. "And Jack, any word of this to Scar and I'll never forgive you" he said walking away.

It was not hard to tell Scar cause we didn't spend much time together that day. I had to run errands for mum and she was at the rink training. Even though I have known Ace for not long, I respect him highly. He has been through a lot in life. And above everything, he takes care of Scar like his own, and Scar too treats him like family.

So it was evening before I knew and I went to the cafe.
