A/N: How are you all doing you lovely people? I hope you had a great Easter, even though the situation across the countries is not so pleasing. Well, here is the new chapter, hope you enjoy it, and hopefully, it gets better the next one - it's kinda short this one. But nonetheless, please vote and leave a comment, I really appreciate it.

Be great, be good, be kind. Chloe <3

Mia woke up feeling well rested and radiating. She didn't remember what hour it was when she fell asleep, but at 8 a.m. she felt great. She stretched in bed, her muscles buzzing as she did so and a smile graced her lips as she remembered how the guy from last night no less but worshiped her. She remembered how skillful he was with his mouth, tongue, fingers... Mia hummed appreciatively, finally feeling content and satisfied.

She turned in her bed, reaching for her phone, when cold air seeped inside the room. She didn't even react when it happened, knowing too well who was invading her privacy. She hurried to cover her naked form under the blanket, scowling at the tall man in front of her bed.

"Ever heard of a door and knocking?" she huffed as she tried to move up the bed without letting the cover slip from her fingers. Gideon tilted his head, curiosity written all over his face as he observed her. Mia wasn't one to sleep without underwear on. He knew that much, even if they didn't get to the intimate part of sharing a bed at night. But then he caught a smell, and something clicked – she wasn't alone last night.

"Oh..." he looked away, shuffling on his feet in awkward silence. During the last few weeks he had hoped that Mia would consider giving another try of them both dating, but it seemed that all the flirtation and the moments they shared were meaningless to her.

"What?"

"Um, nothing." Gideon scratched the back of his neck, feeling uncomfortable suddenly. Mia regarded him as he stood a few feet from the bed, and it finally occurred to her why he was acting weird. She almost forgot that vampires are very perceptive to smells. She must be reeking to him with the scent of the guy that was with her. And her anger with him subsided into a feeling of guilt – she knew that they weren't anything but friends, if that even was what their relationship represented, but now she couldn't help but regret the decision of having a man in her bed.

"Did you want anything?" she finally asked him, remembering that she allegedly was supposed to go to an early meeting.

"I was just wondering if you wanted me to drive you to your office." Mia was contemplating what to tell him, when he continued, "But I remembered I have some stuff to attend to. Will you be alright going by yourself?" She knew that he wanted to escape the awkward situation they were in, but the fact that he was still making sure if she'd be alright warmed something inside her. If she told him that she wanted him to take her, she was sure he would, regardless of his obviously hurt feelings.

"Yes, I'll be fine. Don't worry." She smiled in his direction, releasing a heavy sigh; no matter how much she'd appreciate the offer, there was no actual meeting. Though something told her that he already assumed that.

"Oh, okay. Then I better get going." he nodded swiftly and with that disappeared through the balcony doors.

Mia plopped back into the soft mattress and sighed loudly. That was very uncomfortable. She was glad she had no need to leave the house, and though she'd like to lay more in bed, she was wide awake. She sat up again, looking around the flat and decided to clean a bit. It was long overdue.

Later that day, Chris came over and took Mia back to his and Gideon's house. The ride was silent for the most part, until Chris nudged Mia playfully, a grin displaying on his lips.

"So, I hear that you had some fun last night." His eyebrows wiggled suggestively as he peered at her in the passenger seat. Mia was quick to reply him with a slap on the arm, her mouth hanging open in surprise. She wasn't expecting Gideon to share this with him. "What?" Chris chuckled amused, "The guy was fuming when he came home – I had to ask."

"That's not his business! I just wanted... wait, he was angry?" she guessed that Gideon would be hurt at some extent, but they weren't dating for over a year, surely he should've moved on. When Chris answered, it was as if he heard her inner turmoil.

"He was following you around all this time. Do you think he moved on?"

"I..." when she didn't know what to respond, she asked something else instead, "Why didn't he?"

"Well, you see... we, vampires I mean, we feel differently. Human emotions, while can be strong, are nothing compared to what vampires experience. It's magnified, like any other thing about a vampire is, just like his sight, hearing, smell; emotions are so potent, they almost consume a vampire if not learnt how to control them. It's very powerful. But Gideon, well, he..." he glanced at Mia for a second before setting his eyes back on the road, "It's not really my place to tell you about it. You should talk with Gideon if you'd like to know more." She watched Chris for a few moments, waiting if he's continue despite telling her to ask Gideon for more, but he continued on the first topic he started. "So, was he any good?"

"Who?"

"The guy you had over?"

"He was."

"Hot?"

"I... don't know?" The revelation puzzled Mia. She actually couldn't remember how he looked now that she thought about it.

"What do you mean you don't know?"

"I don't remember. Nor do I recall his name."

"Surely you weren't that wasted to not remember that."

"I wasn't." she recalled the two shots she had with Lottie before hitting the dance floor, and then the other cocktail sometime later that evening, but that was hardly enough alcohol to make her forget. She tried to remember the moment the guy approached her but it was all almost like in a haze. It was weird. "It's as if I can remember the way I felt but can't recall the images. It's a blur."

Chris was discreet when his face contorted with worry, trying to hide his reaction from Mia. He was starting to fit the puzzle pieces and the image was getting clearer of what actually happened, but he didn't want to worry Mia. He wanted to share it with Gideon first and then he'd decide how to proceed next.

"Maybe the alcohol got you harder than you thought," he finally said, hoping to put her qualms to rest. She glanced at him uncertain, but then nodded. It must have been the alcohol – she was careful not to leave her glass unattended, so it couldn't have been a drug; and she remembers taking the guy to her house willingly.

"Maybe it did," she agreed.
