APRIL 20th 2020 WATCHA SMOKING
—
"Heavens above," I felt someone pull me up by my arm. My mate snarled and reached up to grab me, but stopped when he was who it was. "I swear if you haven't talked to my parents. I will never allow you to see my sister again." It was Anthony. I almost let out a sigh of relief, at least it wasn't Tre.
Li rose to his feet and held out his hands as if to say he was of no harm. "I talked to your parents."
"On your pack." Growled Anthony.
Li sighed and gave a weak smile, "On my pack." He raised a hand over his heart as a sign of an oath. He locked eyes with me, "your parents are lovely people. You know you have your mother's eyes." He smiled softly.
My heart fluttered, of course I knew, the pack wouldn't let me live it down. But when he says it I get butterflies in my stomach. Ugh, love is weird. I looked up at Anthony to see what he was thinking. "We are going," he said more to Li than me. "You are lucky I wasn't the Beta," he was referring to Tre. He nudged me into a walk.
"When can I see you again?" Li shouted and turned around to look at him. Anthony tightened his grip on me, telling me that we shouldn't stop moving.
"Um," I looked to Anthony who was just looking back in the direction of camp with a blank stare. "Maybe you could have dinner with us?" I smiled back at him.
"Alri—" Li cracked a smile, putting his hands in his pockets. He was beautiful with the lake in the background. Though he was cut short by my brother.
"No!" Anthony barked, "Dania, that's a horrible idea. Have we forgotten about Tre?" Anthony's eyes filled with worry and fear at the thought of it.
"But—" I wanted to whine.
"Sure." We whipped our heads in the direction of the treeline. And there was Tre in all his masculine glory, a dull look on his face, his hands on his hips, asserting his dominance. "We will see you at dinner. It's at sunset, don't be late." Then he gave us a hard look telling us to get a move on.
We started to move, Anthony still had a hand on my arm. His hold was gentle as always. It was like a ghost was holding me. I turned back to my mate and gave him a little wave. Li smiled and watched me turn and start walking. Every few steps I looked back at him to see that he is yet to move.
"He moves fast, I'll give him that," Tre mumbled to himself as he fell in line with us two. I raised a brow, was that a praise? From Tre? Has hell frozen over?
"He must have been at our parent's door at the crack of dawn," Anthony said shaking his head in disbelief. That had to be so, it was barely past noon and there's no way that mum would let him go after a brief meeting. I wanted to groan, how much did he already know about me?
"Shift." Tre gave us a look. "We have dinner to prepare."

I was nervous. No, I was terrified. I was always bad at social situations. I had my brothers, so I had built-in best friends. I didn't really get into the habit of meeting people. How do I act? Do I just act like myself? Is there a manual?
"Do you think the bastard is bringing a friend?" Ralph slumped down next to me. He rested his head on my shoulder.
"That's my mate you're talking about," I hissed moving my shoulder out from under his head.
"Damn, sorry, sorry," He groaned out, putting his head back on my shoulder. "Sit still, I apologized." I looked into the fire. I helped my brother cut up the elk that they hunted down. I don't know who caught it, but it was enough to feed us for the rest of the week.
