Dania

The Alpha died in the night, and the brothers were gone without a single trace. Our entire house was in chaos. I had at least three of my brothers with me at all times of the day. I hadn't seen Tre, due to the fact that he was at the Packhouse dealing with the mess with our father.
Rumor has it the brothers were the ones who poisoned their father and left to become rogues. But why would they give up the title of Alpha? I was sitting on the couch with Anthony, Colby, and Axel, who all sat in silence. The entire family was in shock. My mother was working silently in the kitchen for the first time in all my life. The death of the Alpha loomed over all of us.
"I'm going to my plants." Anthony said standing up, "want to come with me?" Anthony held down a hand for me, which I gratefully took. He lifted me up and we walked in silence towards the back porch. We walked down the wooden steps and I sat at the nice table while I watched Anthony walk towards his plants.
"I'm worried about Tre." I watched Anthony stop watering his plants. He turned towards me, the hose still in his hand. His face held pain.
"Me too." He turned back around and went back to watering his plants. Then he got to the Heathers he was growing. I rested my head on my hand, just looking at him. "Look at this," He crouched down to the flowers. "Looks like the Heathers are in full bloom." He plucked one from the bunch then walked over to me. "You know what Heathers mean?" He smiled holding it out for me.
I took it shaking my head. I had no idea what this pretty purple flower meant.
"It means many things." He pulled up a chair from across from me. He put the hose on his leg, looking at the flower. "Its most commonly known for good luck and protection." He smiled before standing up. He walked back over to the flowers and picked up another one. He came back over and handed me another one.
"Two?" I said surprised. He smiled and picked up the hose he left on the chair.
"One is from me." He turned his back and walked over to the flowers. "The other one you can give to someone that you wish good luck and protection." Then he went back to watering his flowers again. I sighed lovingly, Anthony always knew how to cheer someone up.
"When do you think Tre will be home?" Anthony just looked over his shoulder, a big grin on his face.

Tre returned home that night. I was waiting on the front porch for him. When he got out of his truck I sprang up. "Tre!" I shouted for him. His head shot up looking for me. I walked down the wooden steps onto the gravel driveway. "I have something to give you," I said with a smile.
He raised a brow before crouching down to my height. "What's up monkey?" He tried to put a smile on his face but it was clear that he was already very tired. I saw the bags under his eyes and everything. He wasn't sleeping well at night.
I held out the Heather flower that was in my hand to him. "This is for you."
"A flower?" He said confused. "Is this from Anthony's garden?" He took it into his big bear hand. It looked so small in his grasp.
I nodded my head. "He told me to give it to someone who I wish good luck and protection." I rocked back and forth on the feet. "I know its childish," I rubbed the back of my neck. "But you were the first person to come to mind."
He gave me a big pat on the head before drawing me into a big bear hug. I wrapped my hands around his back, "thanks, Dania." He said it with a sigh, which translated to: "you don't know how much I needed to hear that."
