Metroid: Samus Begins

Ambush

Despite the heat you could nearly forget this was norfair as Samus had now entered an ordinary cave which was quite a difference from the lava rivers and chozo ruins she had just come through.  The cave oddly enough had dozens of tiny stalagmites yet only one large Stalactite hung from the ceiling .  With a charged ice shot powered up she cautiously approached the stalactite when suddenly it dropped from the ceiling and ten space pirates ride it down . Wearing different kinds of armour they all attack swiftly with the sole intent of annihilating the one threat to their operations.  Samus fired her charged shot at one of them who was wearing black and white armour which signified its weakness to its own weapon. The pirate was knocked down and parts of its armour broke.  Another pirate jumped off the stalactite and with a yellow scythe extended from its right arm it dived at Samus. She spun around and kicked it in the elbow as it landed which completely broke its arm. She picked up the scythe and buried it in the pirates skull. Another pirate In green armour fired furiously at her in retaliation. A quick scan revealed to Samus that a super missile would sort this one out. Before she could attack another pirate with black and purple armour tackled her and swung its scythe at her visor. Using the morph ball Samus rolled under its feet , emerged then blasted its face with the wave beam which instantly broke the armour allowing the hot air to finish it off. Turning quickly around with a super missile ready she sent her original target across the cave and right onto a stalagmite .  Four more pirates attacked simultaneously with scythes on both arms . Their only armour was frail and was just to protect them from the air. Samus jumped over one of them and snapped its neck as she did so before shooting a regular shot at one of the others scythes which bounced off and hit another pirate in the neck.  She then dived forward and swiped a Grenade out of the armour of one of the others then swung around and inbedded it between the jaws of the other pirate which instantly exploded. The last of the four then ran at her but she turned away from it and faced the stalactite as she fired a missile at it which instantly killed and launched its corpse elsewhere.  Only two pirates remained and they both wore a dark blue armour with a violet glow around the head. They suddenly vanished before Samus could scan them. One appeared behind and kicked her before teleporting again infront of her and kicking her again. As she fell she used the morph ball to roll back so she should come back standing up. But the pirate was gone. She switched to her X ray visor and was suddenly able to spot them both highlighted red against a white background.  Even with teleportation and cloaking these high ranking pirates were still no match . Using the wave beam she managed to penetrate the weakest parts of their armour. One teleported right infront of her but before its scythe could impact her she grabbed it with her hand and used her right leg to snap its arm . It fell to floor snarling in agony but she focused her attention on the last pirate who was now on the opposite side of the stalactite. Using the grapple beam she ripped a stalagmite and flung it toward the pirate which knocked it to the ground .  She jumped onto the stalactite and used a charged wave shot to stun it before it could get up.  The plasma beam then sailed into the pirates armour as it desperately tried to get to its feet. It's shields dropped rapidly and soon it's armour was melting from a charged shot. The armour melted against its flesh practically fusing with it. It thrashed around on the ground unable to even scream.  The injured pirate was now on its feet clutching  its horribly broken arm. Samus simply watched as it wailed and clasped at the air. The break had obviously broken the armour on the arm aswell which exposed the skin underneath to the boiling air.  While the previous pirate who she finished with the wave beam died quickly from its head being exposed as did the half frozen pirate she first killed, this one on the other hand was dying slowly as it was being cooked alive in its own armour .  Leaving it to die she stepped onto the stalactite which was a hidden elevator but as she did a large shape dropped ontop of her and a fist to her face flung her to the ground. She got up quickly and faced her attacker. "Morphology space pirate bruiser: Slow lumbering enlarged space pirate with extra protective armour only its green plated joins are vulnerable"

The bruiser slams it's fists on the ground which sent a shockwave around the cave . Samus jumped over it and managed to shatter the bruisers right shoulder with a missile. It stumbled around and she jumped up on its back destroying its other shoulder and finally shattering it knee plates .  It fell to the ground Defeated and she left it there to die, not wanting to waste any more time she stepped onto the stalactite Again and it propelled upwards taking her up above the cave .
