Garroth held the rose to his chest, a bright blush on his face.
He couldn't believe that he had a secret admirer! And he was pretty goddang sure who it was.
The last one was about two days ago, in the mailbox of his home. He had went out early in the morning to check it, and found it amongst tons of bills and other boring adult stuff. He had literally almost threw the others away at the sight of the mysterious letter, but decided against it as he shuffled inside, leaving the chilly weather behind him as he closed his front door. He dropped all other letters and rested at his bar table, a green envelope in his hands.
It was sealed with a red sticker heart, making his own heart melt at the sight of it. He was hoping it'd be from Laurance. He was wishing it would be from him. However, when he opened the letter, it read,
Dear Garroth Ro'Meave,
You may be concerned as to why this has been placed among your box upon which your mail rests in.
He snorted at the first sentence, shaking his head.
It has come to my attention of which the feels that my heart so desperately tries to act upon. Over the past couple of weeks, I have been avoiding you immensely, although I doubt you have come to this realization.
Come to think of it, Laurance has been acting a little... stand-offish lately. He continued scanning the page.
My heart longs to be in your embrace, it longs to be hearing your rough voice tell me every hour of the day of how deeply you care for me, and love me. As now I have lifted this burden of a secret off of my chest, I shall leave you be. Farewell, my Love.
With the Utmost of Admiration,
Your Secret Admirer
Garroth had squealed when he was done reading it. And then, of course, he recomposed himself because no man in their right mind would squeal at anything. This time, he found a rose placed on the sidewalk that stretched its way from the road to his house. Beside it was a note that said, "To my Dearest, may your days be lengthened and gratitude be stretched forth unto you." And now he was here, holding the rose close to his nostrils as he let the scent permeate his entire being. He decided to call Laurance, since he was his best friend, crush or not.
He dialed it and pressed the green button, waiting anxiously for the familiar voice to come over the speaker. The ringing stopped and a low groan was heard from the other line, making Garroth giggle underneath his breath.
"There better be a good fucking reason to wake me up at the crack of dawn with that annoying ringtone you set for me." The blonde's grin grew wider by the second and he chuckled at his friend.
"Get your ass outta bed. It's almost noon, you imbecile." He heard shuffling on the other side as he waited a response.
"Alright, alright. I'm up. I doubt you called me just to get me up out of bed, so what did you need that you couldn't just walk across the hallway to tell me?"
Oh. Right. They lived in the same house. Garroth's face flushed at the realization and he rubbed the back of his neck in embarrassment as he watched Laurance lean against his bedroom door frame with a small smirk and tired eyes. He ended the phone call and slipped his phone into his pocket and crossed his arms over his bare chest. Yeah, it took Garroth a long time to get used to that sight. Garroth dropped his phone on his bed and lifted the rose for Laurance to see.
"I have an admirer." Laurance's smirk widened and he walked over, plucking the rose from Garroth's hands to inspect it. However, when he grabbed it, he grabbed a hold of one of the thorns, it piercing through his skin as a yelp left his lips and he released the rose, letting it fall gently back into Garroth's lap.
