Stefan decided he was going to sacrifice himself for Jenna. Lily wanted to refuse when he told her, but she couldn't let Jenna die, when she had nothing to do with this in the first place. Plus, she knew Stefan wouldn't budge, even if she tried.

So, Elijah, Stefan and Lily made their way to the sacrifice while the others stayed behind. Klaus couldn't know Bonnie was alive until the right moment; it was the only way to surprise him and get him at his weakest.

"I will step forward and get Klaus' attention on me." Stefan spoke up, his voice lower than usual so Klaus wouldn't hear. "You two can stay back until it is time." Stefan glanced over at Elijah and Lily as they nodded slightly in agreement.

"Thank you." Lily whispered out softly, causing Stefan to smile slightly and nod, before heading up to the rocks to make himself known to Klaus.

Elijah and Lily stayed behind, a little further back in the woods where Klaus couldn't see them. Lily wanted to be able to see what was happening, and Elijah knew they would have to be semi-close anyways so he could kill his brother when the time was right.

When Stefan vamped up to the rocks, Elijah immediately pulled Lily towards him, his eyes locking with hers. He didn't want to regret not spending his last few moments with her, in case he didn't make it out alive.

"When I go, you will stay. Understand?" Elijah asked, and Lily hesitated before nodding slightly, knowing it was for the best.

"Yes." Lily replied, her voice barely above a whisper. Elijah brushed a piece of hair from her face, his hand slightly cold against her warm skin. He wished they could stay like that forever, but he knew there were other things to be done that night.

"Everything will be fine." Elijah stated firmly, his eyes not leaving hers as he spoke. He didn't know if he was trying to convince her or himself. If he was being honest, he was quite nervous to face his brother. Based on their past, Klaus probably wouldn't be too happy to see him.

Before Lily could respond to Elijah, though, they heard Elena's voice in the distance.

"No! Stefan!" Elena yelled out, causing Lily to turn around just in time to see Klaus daggering Stefan. He didn't put it through his heart, but she knew it must've hurt all the same.

Then, Lily watched as Klaus grabbed Jenna and pulled her from the ring of fire surrounding her. It was as if time slowed down in those moments, everything around them blurring slightly. Lily ripped out of Elijah's grasp to go help Jenna, but he was quick to pull her back against his chest, his arms wrapped tightly around her so she couldn't run. He couldn't risk Klaus seeing her, since he could only imagine what he would do to her, or anyone that tried to stop him from completing the sacrifice.

Lily struggled in Elijah's grip, shaking her head quickly as she watched Jenna feed on the witch, completing her transition.

Klaus didn't waste any time after that, and Lily was forced to watch as he drove a stake right through Jenna's heart. Jenna's body fell to the ground, the familiar grey veins appearing on her skin as she died.

It was like Lily was watching her worst nightmare; something she never thought she would have to see. The person that had been there for her and her siblings more than anyone was gone, and she couldn't do anything to stop it.

Elijah clasped his hand over Lily's mouth immediately, covering the gasp she was about to let out. He could almost feel the pain radiating off of her, and he knew how hard it must've been for her to watch that. Jenna was her family; someone she cared deeply for. It crushed Elijah to know his brother was the cause of Lily's pain.
