The next few months flew by incredibly fast for everyone.

Lily had picked up a few shifts at the grill over the summer, knowing she had to start making some money now that they were essentially on their own.

Of course, Alaric was there to help them every step of the way, which Lily was grateful for. But she knew she needed to step up and help, too.

Working at the grill got her mind off of everything that had happened, and before she knew it, she had practically forgotten about Elijah.

At first, he consumed her every thought, though. She cried herself to sleep countless nights, and it got to the point that Alaric or Jeremy would go to her room and hold her for a few hours to calm her down.

Stefan had run off with Klaus after getting the cure for Damon's bite, and Elena was heartbroken. They had been gone the whole summer, killing people in multiple different states.

Apparently, based on Damon & Elena's findings, Stefan was a totally different person. They had tried to track him down a few times, and even went into the mountains looking for him, but he was a lost cause.

Elena had invited Lily to help her & her friends with senior prank night, knowing Lily could use the night off.

So, Lily found herself at the high school in the middle of the night with a bunch of teenagers to set up a couple of pranks.

Of course, Caroline was running the entire thing, and wanted it all to go smoothly.

"Are you kidding me?" Caroline yelled, sighing as she turned to Matt, who had walked in the room and set off all the traps they had just finished setting up. "Do you know how long it took for us to set all this up?" Lily felt kind of bad for Matt, but the exhausted part of her was on Caroline's side.

"Forgot about senior prank night?" Tyler asked, smirking slightly at Matt, who still stood near the door.

"How could you forget?" Caroline asked, crossing her arms at the blonde boy. "We've been waiting for this since freshman year!" She exclaimed, sighing as she looked around at the traps.

"Matt, if I am doing this, you are doing this." Elena stated, smiling over at Lily. "Plus, we got Lily to help out." Lily grinned slightly, looking over at Matt, who was still shocked.

"We are about to be seniors." Caroline stated, glancing around at everyone. "These are the memories that stay with us forever, and if we don't create these memories now, then what's the point?" Lily stifled a laugh as she watched Caroline rant. Caroline could be incredibly stubborn when she wanted to be, but Lily knew she was the exact same way.

"Come on, Lily." Elena spoke up, grabbing Lily's arm as she furrowed her eyebrows. "Let's go superglue Alaric's desk shut."

"Count me in." Lily grinned at her sister as she tugged her out of the room, towards Alaric's classroom.

They made their way down the hall, but stopped once they turned the corner and were met with a tall figure. Klaus.

"There's my girl." Klaus smirked slightly, looking over at Elena before turning to Lily. "I remember you." Klaus added, gazing over Lily as she shook her head.
