FALDREY & EREN
It had already been a whole day since he spoke with Ursa. He still hadn't gotten the chance to speak with Eren. Faldrey spent the last night waiting for a flame butterfly but it never came.
He'd already talked with Aphrodite and he didn't need to explain much. She agreed before he could even get to the persuasion part, simply saying she would accept any offer to get out of the Fire Stoichi Tribe and, that she could trust him with her life. Faldrey was glad that at least one part was settled, he just had Eren to convince now.
On the second night, he realised time wasn't on their side. He had to speak with Eren and he had to do it soon. Concentrating, he reached out with his mind to Eren, trying to get to his lover and he did. He felt Eren's wave of emotions soothe him like the fire place on very cold night. In less than ten minutes a flame butterfly came flapping by his window, not wasting another second he got into his motley cloak and sped towards the watchtower.
Eren ran to him and kissed him so passionately the second he set his eyes on him.
"I missed you so much," he whispered into Faldrey's face. "I would've called for you the other night but there was another council meeting. Faldrey I think something terrible is about to happen."
"You know about The Sphinx's battalion of Dakyrian warriors from across the tribes?" Faldrey looked up at him with wide eyes.
"The Sphinx's what?" Eren furrowed his eyebrows.
"The greatest army the tribes have ever seen has been formed by The Sphinx, and they're coming for the capital," Faldrey spoke hastily, trying his best to get all the information out to Eren at once. "We need—"
"Wait, wait. Breathe love," he put his hands on Faldrey's chin and tipped his head up. "Come let's sit."
Eren led him to one of the stone benches in the room.
"What were you saying about an army and the Sphinx?"
"The Sphinx has put together the greatest army known to Dakyrekind and they're coming for Phoenix tail and the castle of the Tal Dane," Faldrey spoke slowly this time, he wasn't still agitated from the passionate kiss they had shared.
"You're beginning to scare me love, are you alright?" He scanned the boy's face for injury marks or anything. "Is someone putting you up to this?"
"No, no." His voice rose a bit as he took Eren's hand away from his face and held it down. "No one is putting me up to this, I'm trying to save you. Ursa did say convincing you was going to be a bit difficult. Listen—"
"Wait, Ursa told you all of this? And you believed him? How did he manage to deceive you?" Faldrey felt tension rise between them, but he was determined to get Eren to understand.
"He's not deceiving me, Eren. He has been talking with my mother—whom I thought died during the last raid—through letters for months now."
"How does Ursa know your mother?" Eren frowned at Faldrey, he was finding it difficult to see the point he was trying to make clear.
"They were all friends during the first raid they experienced; Ursa, your father, my mother, her twin sister and your mother. My grandfather was the special adviser to your grandfather who later got him executed," Faldrey explained everything to Eren who just stared at him, bemused.
He explained how Ursa was supposed to marry his mother, but his father used his power as the Tal Dane to steal her from him.
"So this is some kind of vendetta Ursa is carrying out against my father?" Eren spoke after a short period of processing everything Faldrey had just told him.
