This is the last chapter of the first part of Dakyres of Ardor: Part I: Cursed Reincarnations.

EREN

He and Ursa had made it across the Lava Sea in the floating metal craft, landing on the other side of it before joining Zaneri who was waiting for them at the boundary between the Blazing Sun and the Crescent Moon Tribes.

"I'm so sorry," Eren sobbed as he placed his beloved on the wooden floor of the berth of the ship. "I wish I could save him but he gave himself for me," the tears continued to fall from his eyes.

"I had three beautiful children and this realm managed to take all of them away from me," Zaneri wept, spewing imprecations at the very core of the unrest in the realm.

"I'm so so sorry, if I could give myself in place of Faldrey I would do that in a heartbeat," he cried as well, but tried his best to calm a wailing mother.

Zaneri seeing the lifeless body of her son broke the parts of her the last raid had spared, but seeing her son being held in the protective arms of Eren made her eyes beam again with hope.

"It's fine, Eren Pendragon. Everything is fine," she placed a hand on his face. "You should only cry if he did not fulfil his destiny, but he did so you should be joyous, we both should be joyous. Knowing my beautiful boy, I can confidently say he will come back to you—to us—no matter what it takes."

Just then Eren consciousness got pulled away from him, traveling through the same space Faldrey once did to heal him. He found himself standing behind Faldrey who spoke to the coruscating light that engulfed him in its fondness.

He tried to run to him but it felt like he was running on the same spot. His stretched out hand never got to Faldrey's luminescent figure until it vanished and blended into the light.

In a whoosh he stood right in the place Faldrey once stood, faced with the same fondness.

"Oh Theobald, how much you've been through in this lifetime." He heard the voice speak in a melody that mesmerised his consciousness.

"What is this place?" Eren couldn't withstand the mindboggling euphoria that suddenly confronted him.

"You stand before the god of everything that breathes air."

"Zaal?" Eren's senses couldn't comprehend the signals they received.

"You never called unto me till you met your beloved, but that is just who you are Theobald, my child. Alistair broke the cycle and freed your souls from this cursed loop. His last wish will be granted, but there's a small price which you will have to pay," the voice finished and Eren felt himself slowly being drawn back to his body.

"What price?!" He tried to get one last answer but his agile body in the realm pulled his consciousness back from where, and whence, it was projected to.

Eren opened his eyes and found himself in a room, the sound of waves accompanied by the whistling of the wind filled the air.

Sitting up on the small bed and freeing himself from the soft covers which kept him warm he recognised the berth of the ship. Walking up the few wooden steps he got out unto the main deck.

It was night just a few minutes ago, now it was bright and peaceful, their ship sailed gracefully on the waters. The calm breeze grazed his soft skin and his wounds so gently.

He walked up to Ursa and Zaneri who were both standing by the mast fastening the ropes of the sail.

"What happened, Ursa?"

"You're awake," he turned and faced Eren. "You just blacked out for the rest of the night."

"Where's Faldrey's body?" This was the first question on his mind, but he needed to know why it was morning all of a sudden.

"He's sleeping peacefully with the water sprites now," Zaneri answered with the brightest smile.

Eren then saw why Faldrey was so beautiful, his mother looked like a celestial of the Otherrealm.

"Where are we going now? To Delta?" He walked up to Ursa who motioned for him to come help him tie a knot.

"Delta will not accept two Dakyres of the Blazing Sun from a noble family, neither can they accommodate a widow with Blazing Sun blood running through her veins anymore," she was standing in front of Eren now, his face cupped in her smooth hands.

"So where are we going then?"

"We're crossing Doéraath, The Dread Ocean," she smiled at the boy who still stared at her in confusion.

"Where does that lead to?"

Zaneri opened a map and examined it in front of Eren. "Do you know what's beyond The Dread ocean?" She asked, tracing with her fingers on the map which looked completely new to him. It had locations and places he'd never seen on any other maps in the realm.

"No, I don't. No one knows, the ocean can not be crossed because it is home to the Kissi. How are we going to cross it?"

"Do not fret, you've an experienced water Stoichi Dakyre with you," she folded the map and smiled at Eren.

"So are we just going to cross the Doéraath and leave the realm behind? What about becoming the Tal Dane for the new red Stoichi Tribe?" Eren had a lot of questions to throw at them for the sudden change in decision.

"The Sphinx won't let a Pendragon rule the Red Stoichi Tribe, they'll make it their goal to kill every last Pendragon," Ursa informed with his usual rational tone.

"What happens to me then?" Eren stumbled on his feet and almost fell backwards on hearing the news.

"You're crossing the Doéraath with us, cherry," Zaneri repeated calmly. She knew all too well that the news was probably too much for the Young Tal Dane to wrap his head around at once.

Eren inhaled deeply and let it all out slowly and steadily. "What's beyond the Dread Ocean, where does that lead us to?" Eren looked from Ursa to Faldrey's mother repeatedly.

Ursa got the ropes of the sail all in place now.

"That leads to the west, Eren. We're going to the west." With that he pulled at the densely woven halyard and the course sail went flourishing in the wind.

To be continued....
