Chapter 4

„So Miss Evans, Mister Snape, I've got very exiting news for you. One of my friends and former students, just like the two of you, has offered to give away one free ticket for his exclusive potions study course. He works at the auror office and is very influential. As I understand it you want to become an auror, right Miss Evans?"

„It is a job that is of great interest for me, yes", she answered, blushing because she noticed Severus giving her the side eye. She hadn't told him that.

„And you, Mister Snape, probably wouldn't mind some great connections to the ministerium as well, right." Severus just nodded but Lily noticed that he was exited. This could mean finally being independent. Financially and life wise.

„Right, I thought, that this would be of interest for you two, although I did ask a talented potion maker from every house, but I think only you two have a real shot. Unfortunately there's only one spot so you and the other contestants would be participating in a contest for it."

„We would be competing with each other?" Severus asked.

„You don't mind a little friendly competition right?"

(Sirius PoV)

5 September 1975

Sirius groaned as the pillow hit him. 

„That is part of the reason why I hate you Wormtail. It's 6 in the morning!"

Sirius took the pillow and threw it at Remus head that was buried in a huge pillow. 

„Wakey, Wakey daring breakfast is ready", he yelled, imitating the voice of an elderly lady with a scottish accent. 

Remus turned around. „Sirius, shut up just for once." 

„Shut up yourself Remus", Sirius answered in a hight pitched tone. James just sat on his bed, grinned and enjoyed the drama. 

They got changed and went to the great hall for breakfast. The gryffindor table was almost empty because they had gotten up early so they would be left alone while eating. Remus had grown quite fond of muesli, which they made fun of him for but he grabbed a bowl anyways. Before speaking James looked around to see if anyone was in hearing distance.

„So did you guys make any progress with the map over the summer?"

Everyone looked at Remus, he had tried to find a charm that would make it possible for them to see the location of everyone who was on the map. 

„So, I think I found something but don't get too exited because this charm is really advanced and difficult. Its called the Homonculous Charm that, when cast onto a map, will enable its possessor to track the movements of every person in the mapped area, through labelled dots that move around the parchment. But its really really hard, I've tried a thousand times and I just can't get it right."

James let out a cheer. 

„Finally at least we have a place to start. I was also successful with the passwords for the tunnels. I have found almost all of them so with your outline of the castle, Peter, we have all the info for the ground. Theres a spell to make them show up on the map when you get close to the tunnel , its actually quite easy. I've already included it on my draft. But hows it going with the sealing Sirius?"
