The team was quiet as they waited for the ambulance, ending practice as they couldn't keep going. Nicky had stepped out of the court shortly after the accident, making Kevin run after him.
The coach sighed and rubbed his face, looking down at his late fox.

"The ambulance will be here shortly.. Aaron, can you help me get off Sophia's helmet?"

The blonde nodded and took off his own helmet and gloves, walking over to Wymack.  Andrew was resting against the goal with his racquet laying on his chest, a bored expression on his face. Matt was looking nervously around and the girls were staring at Sophia's unmoving body.

They heard sirens in the distance, making the team sigh out a bit. Neil was checking his arms as he stood quietly with his back turned, not wanting to see the damage done.

Paramedics rushed in and got into action at the scene, sending the rest of the team away, so they could work. The girls walked away silently,  Andrew walked off with a eyeroll and Neil walked with Matt, all of them quiet.

As the paramedics worked, the foxes were now showering and getting dressed. Nobody spoke, it was as silent as at a graveyard.
As the team gathered again outside the wardrobes, they found Nicky shaking while Kevin was trying to comfort him.

"It wasn't your fault, Nicky, it was a freak accident"
"No! It was my fault! If I had been more careful-"

A loud slap was heard through the hallway, silencing the bickering boys. A red handprint was slowly showing on Nicky's face.
Kevin sighed deeply and rubbed his hand.

"You can't think of the 'what if's' and possible scenarios"

Nicky stared at the green eyed striker as tears streamed down his face, he looked completely broken. Kevin looked away and sighed. Neil looked down at his shoes as they waited.

The paramedics left after around twenty minutes, following them were a tray with a black bag ontop of it. Aaron and Wymack walked out after the paramedics left.

"She's dead. Neck snapped on impact"

Wymack sighed and rubbed his face.

"Now i have a phone call to make"

The coach left the foxes alone as he walked to his office to take the call.

Aaron walked to the men's wardrobe to get changed.

"It's all my fault"

Neil turned his attention to Nicky, who was staring empty at the ground and sighed.
Léo finally said something for the first time after the accident.

"It was a freak accident. Don't mind"

Nicky looked up to the striker with wide eyes.

"I just killed your girlfriend, and you aren't mad?"
"I'm not mad. I'm just shocked that this was the way she'd go"

Kevin stared at the shorter boy with a questionable look. Neil rubbed his wrists awkwardly, and Léo popped his neck easily.

The rest of the evening was quiet. The team kept to their personal rooms, nobody spoke to eachother.

Neil was sitting on his bed reading a book, while Kevin was laying in the bed, gently caressing his fingers down Neil's scarred skin, humming lowly. Neil sighed slightly and flipped the page.

"You know you didn't need to slap Nicky"

Kevin stopped in his tracks, taking a deep breath and his face giving off a blank expression.

"I know, but i didn't know any other way to make him snap out of it. It was an accident after all, it's not like he did it on purpose"

Neil hummed, agreeing to what Kevin were saying, flipping the page again. Kevin gently let his fingers touch the rough skin on Neil's back and sides, his flexing arms and how Neil's auburn hair gently fell onto his face.

Neil finally shut the book after he heard small snores coming from behind him. He smiled a bit, looking down at a sleeping Kevin, and gently crawled out of the huge bed, taking on his coat and walking out of the room. He closed the door gently and saw Andrew sitting in the couch watching TV.

"I'm going for a smoke, wanna come with?"

Andrew looked towards Neil and shrugged before turning off the television and getting up. Neil grabbed his shoes and stepped into them, as Andrew also did so.
Both boys making their way up to the roof.

The sunset was beautiful. The pink, purple, orange and yellow sky painting a beautoful scene infront of the exy players as they walked to the edge.
Andrew quickly snatched a cigarette from Neil and waited on the lighter. Neil sighed and took one of the long cancersticks out, as well as finding his lighter.

As he light up Andrew's cigarette and his own, they watched out from the roof at the beautiful sunset. Neil taking a long drag from his burning cigarette, relaxing as the smoke entered his corrupt lungs.

"What a beautiful weather"

Neil hummed at Andrew's statement, agreeing with the blonde. Andrew was keeping his gaze at the auburn haired male next to him, watching as his long eyelashes closed along with his eyes as Neil relaxed. Andrew watched as Neil's mouth was slowly turning into a small smile.

The blonde licked his lips and looked away after realizing he was staring.
Neil opened his eyes and looked at Andrew with a questionable expression.
The blonde shook his head as he flicked the ash from his cigarette and took a drag.

Both boys sat in comfortable silence, listening to eachother breathe softly as they watched the sun disappear in the background.
Neil finished his cigarette first, and blew out the last of the cancerous smoke out of his nose.
Andrew looked down at Neil's hand, that were resting next to him, making sure that the striker didn't fall backwards.

He really wanted to hold it. They could probably never go back to what things were before. All the mistakes that were made, all the heartache and tears.
Andrew realized how damaged both of them truly were.
