I awoke with a throbbing pain in my head. The sun shone through my room window; the dew glistening as it dropped slowly down the glass.
I squinted with one eye open and instantly regretted it when I was blinded by the light.

It had been two weeks since I turned 18 and last night was the first night I went out to a nightclub- and drank. All thanks to Brea.
So now I was recovering from a delightful hangover.

Charming.

I groaned and rolled onto my side, clutching the pillow to my chest. My mouth was dry, my head ached like someone was renovating in my head and I couldn't remember what happened the night before.

As I drifted off asleep again I was jolted back awake by a knock at the door.
I pulled the doona over my head, pretending I wasn't home.

"Mia, it's Brea! Come on, wake up drunkie!" Brea yelled out from outside in the hall.

I stumbled out of the bed reluctantly, unlocked the door and went straight back under the covers.
Brea stomped into the room with lattes and greasy McDonalds breakfast foods. Her hair had been curled and was bouncing along her shoulders.

"That smells really good." My stomach rumbled.

"Don't worry," She placed the food on the table. "I bought some for you." She grinned. "What else can a best friend do when her friend has a hangover." She handed me a bacon and egg muffin and a coffee.
I sat up in the bed and quickly unwrapped my food. Biting into the deliciousness as fast as possible.

"Thank you." Although it sounded more like fan oo as I said it with my mouth full.

"No worries." She sat at the table and dug into her breakfast. "Now, about last night. Are you sure you want to do it?"

"Do what?" I swallowed.

"Remember what we talked about?"

I shook my head slowly, trying not to make myself dizzy.

"Wow you must have drank a lot." She chuckled. It was entertaining for her to see me suffer. "Anyway, I asked you about doing this blind date thing and you agreed so you can't back out now."

I frowned and sipped my coffee, it was a bit bland but it did the job. "What blind date thing?"

She sighed, "I'll just explain again. There's a group being organised on an app made by the university. It's to set up dates, blind dates. You write a brief description about your personality and you add it on the app. You can go through and message people that you think you'd like to meet eventually. You can talk to as many people as you like and set up dates. They're doing these blind dates as a project to see whether you can be attracted to someone just by their personality."

"And I agreed to it?" I asked wide-eyed.

"Yes you did." She nodded. "You have to do it with me. I don't want to do it by myself. It'll be sort of an adventure."

I hesitated. A blind date? What if they turned out to be a creep? There were many, many people who attended the university how could you be sure that you weren't talking to someone who was messing around with you?

"Pleeeaassseee" Brea begged.

I thought about it for a little longer before I replied to her,"Sure." I said.

Brea ran over and hugged me tightly.

"Thank you!" She squealed.

I just knew knowing my luck I would end up on a date with someone who had the potential to be a serial killer or at the very least someone who didn't like peanut butter.
