RomeoGuy65:
It's something strange;
unexplainable.
You can't understand,
behold the magic.
So crazy,
Yet so wonderful.
Swirling around,
tightening inside.
Like a disease;
you struggle to fight it.

Briar_Rose36: Wow, that's great! You're talented.
RomeoGuy65: Thanks. It was something I wrote a while ago after a really bad breakup.
Briar_Rose36: Oh I feel you there. Guys can be jerks.
RomeoGuy65: As can girls. I've gotta go, I need to study. I'll talk to you later :) xx
Briar_Rose36: Ok talk later :) xx

We'd been talking since I finished my lecture, talking so much that I had forgetten about my study session with Nate.
I didn't know this Romeo guy and I had so much in common and now he was sending me x's? I suppose he was just being friendly.

I wish I knew his name, what he looked like...
I could be getting my hopes up for the blind date only to discover he was a 13 year old boy who'd hacked into his siblings phone or something.

I ignored my negative thoughts and changed into my jeans and a black t-shirt. It was breezy this evening so I took a jacket just in case.
I carried my folder and books down to the library and met Nate sitting at one of the tables ready. He was wearing a pair of black jeans and a flannelette short sleeve buttoned shirt over a white t-shirt. He looked like he'd recently showered.

"Hey blondie." He waved me over to the table. I ignored the nickname he now decided was mine and took a seat beside him. "Ready to do some learning!"
I laughed at how enthusiastic he was, like a kid on their first day of school.

"Oh I'm so eager...I even bought new stationary!" I matched his enthusiasm. He stared at me thinking I was serious. He furred his dark eyebrows, they were perfectly spaced apart and even- I could have sworn he got them done at a beauty salon. "I was kidding." I retorted. "Sarcasm." I winked surprisingly. I never winked. I didn't think I could. What the hell?"

"Ah," He smirked. That smirk again. "Of course. Shall we get to it?"

We studied for a good hour and a half. My eyes were dropping by 6, I was tired of reading over the same paragraphs but at least we'd gotten half of my essay done. I cleaned my glasses and put them back in their case- the only time I ever wore them was when I definitely needed to concentrate on what I was reading but most of the time I hardly wore them.

"Thanks for your help." I said, ready to head back to my dorm room and grab some food.

"Anytime." He smiled. "Did you want to go and get a pizza or something? My shout." He offered.

"Oh you don't have to do that."

"I want to, saves cooking." He tempted, I did hate cooking.

"Um, alright then. I do like pizza." I chuckled.

                                                                                        ***

Nate and I walked back to campus, our stomachs full of pizza, coke and ice cream.
"So," I began. "Was this technically a date?" Where in the world did that come from and why did I feel the need to say it?

Nate shoved his hands in his pockets, if I didn't know any better I'd say he was nervous.
"What makes you think that?" He asked smugly.

"Just asking..." I turned my head away, embarrassed. Friends could go and have dinner together. That didn't make it a date.

"Only if you wanted it to be." He replied, softly. I gulped nervously and didn't reply. I couldn't manage the words.

My god, Mia, what in the world is wrong with you?

"Here's my stop." I said after a couple of minutes of awkward silence.
There were barely any stars in the sky above us, it smelt like it was about to rain which was nice because I liked curling up in bed on a rainy night with a book in hand.
"I guess I'll see you around. Thanks again for helping me study."

"Like I said, anytime." He nodded and ran his fingers through his hair. Nate looked as if he wanted to say something more but instead he just said, "See you around, Amelia."

I watched as he walked off when it started to sprinkle down cool rain. That was the first time he didn't call me blondie and hardly anyone called me Amelia. I couldn't recall him even knowing that that was my full name.
I walked up to my room, threw my books on my desk and changed into my pyjamas. I curled up in bed just as it started to pour down rain. I watched the drops fall captivatingly down the window pane.
