Fire and Snow

(Just to be clear here. This mini past story is about Ember and Ice. And their journey together)

Ice's POV

"Well Ice are you ready for your first ever competition? Your friends Midnight, Ash and Ember are coming to watch" Mom asked as we stood by the rink side of their arena. Yeah my parents own the arena the competitions are held in

"I'm ready and after this I'm going to ask Ember if she'll be my girlfriend. We've been dating for a while now and I want her in my life forever" I replied the the competition began. Ember was up first but during her routine she got injured

OH NO!

She had to stop and me being the admirable friend I am skated to her and looked into her eyes

"You alright Ember?" I asked but her tears said it all

"Let's get you to the infirmary. I'll make sure my parents personally tend to your injuries" I told her

"But what about you? If you miss your slot you'll be disqualified Ice..." She asked me

"Don't worry about me. Let's get those injuries seen to first" I told her then carried her to the infirmary after we got her off the ice.

My dad took her from me and then my name was called

I hesitated but then Ember said something to me I'll always remember

"Skate from you're heart and claim that championship. For you" She told me

"I'll claim it for both of us. I love you Ember" then I took to the ice.

I skated to my very best and afterwards I went to check on Ember

"How is she holding up Dad?" I asked

"The doctors examined her legs. Due to the speed she was skating at as part of her routine...she has unfortunately broke her leg and will be unable to skate the rest of the season." Dad told me and I knew Ember was not to find out otherwise she will be heart-broken

"I see." Then someone came to me

"Ice. Well done buddy" They told me

"Huh? What for?" I asked

"You won! We heard about Ember's accident or rather we actually saw it happen. So when we figured out you would be here, and then you were announced as the winner we decided to come and tell you. So how is Ember doing?" I explained everything then left to claim my prize before returning to Ember who was sleeping soundly and my parents were with her as well.

I sat next to my fire wolf who slowly opened her eyes and saw the gold medal and trophy with me.

"You did it...you won" She told me

"Yeah. I did it for you. But...I'm guessing with your enhanced wolf hearing you heard what happened with you.." I asked

"Yeah....fractured leg...." she told me then half an hour later we were in the hospital and she was in surgery to have the leg mended

Midnight and Ash met up with me at the hospital along with Amybrine Inferno.

"Hello your highness" I said to Amybrine

"Ice this is my cousin. Crown Princess Amybrine Inferno. But what's up with you? You are never this stiff to me.." Midnight told me

"That's because I've hung out with you enough to be comfortable around you and Ash..." I told her

"Well don't worry about formalities with me Ice. I've known Ember since we were in kindergarten. So relax. How is she anyways?" Amybrine asked so we sat down and I explained everything then the doctor came over to us

"Ice?"

"Yeah? How is she?"

"Stable and out of surgery. If you want to see her you can come with me." So I followed him into Ember's room where she was sleeping peacefully and her lower right leg in a cast.

If she can't skate the rest of the season...I'll just have to make sure I win it all. For her.

"Something on your mind?" The doctor asked me

"Nothing serious. Just that in this state I know she'll be unable to skate for the rest of the season so I'm going to make sure I skate to the best of my abilities and win the grand championship in three weeks. For her" I replied

"I saw your routine earlier. You're guaranteed to win" The doc told me then left me with Ember who slowly came round again.

"Hey Em..." I said to her then she smiled at me

"Win the grand prize in three weeks. Please" she asked

"I will...but...I've been meaning to ask you something..."

"What?"

"Will you be my girlfriend?" I asked then she smiled with tears in her eyes

"Yes" then I kissed her.

Afterwards Amybrine, Ash and Midnight came in to see her so I stepped out and beamed with joy.

-----1 year later-----

Ember's POV

It's been a year since I broke my leg skating and I haven't been back since. I kind of stopped.

So today Ice is rehearsing for the next competition and I got to watch.

"Well done Ice. Now I will be back in 10 minutes so rest up until I return" his coach said then I stood up as he skated to me and lifted me to let me sit on the barrier

"Whilst I have time to myself...want to try skating again? This time as my girlfriend...with me?" He asked

"I'd love to snow paw" he hates it when I call him that but meh.

I got my skates on then took Ice's hands as sparks flew through my body.

He's the one. The one I want to spend the rest of my life with... 

Eventually I regained my skating confidence and went on to win 5 championships together before officially hanging up our skated forever.
