I ran down the hill in a similar fashion to the last time stream. Pidge and Hunk's indignant screams being completely ignored behind me. Everything was Keith because Keith was all there was.
Keith, Keith, Keith, Keith, Keith.
I live him, I breathe him, I remember... that he doesn't know who I am right now. I know that for us to be able to continue onto the correct path into space, I need to be annoying and overbearing enough to force him to take us with them. Or it will just be him and Shiro.
I start to wonder if it would be better to convince everyone not to investigate the giant, metallic lion. Then, I remember Shay testing new, experimental foods Hunk made, trying alien ingredients that no one else was willing to test. Allura and Pidge doing some awkward not-really-flirting and ending up sharing stories of Earth and Altea, while they figure everything out. I can't take that from them.
Finally, I wonder how all that thinking could have happened in the few minutes it took to get to the bottom of the short cliff. Shaking my head, I proceed to dramatically burst into the room where Shiro lay, unconscious, and helping, unasked, to carry Shiro to Keith's bike.
"Who are you?" Keith asks, severely annoyed, while Hunk and Pidge waited outside.
"The names Lance." I put a little less bravado this time. He still looks confused, but I refuse to start another rivalry with him, so much wasted time.
"Now are we going to get this guy outta here, or are we going to have tea and catch up?" I couldn't lose all my sarcasm, after all, that wasn't a Keith-inferiority-complex thing, that was a Lance-has-a-sense-of-humor thing.
Keith nodded and started walking out of the tent. I followed suit and before I knew it we were all zooming off to Keith's cabin. Keith ordering Hunk to move one way or another. When the cliff came up I held firm to the bike, but otherwise was completely relaxed. Keith may have been a crazy driver, but he knew what he was doing.
This time I would trust him.
~~~~~
The next morning Keith brings Shiro inside and starts explaining his board of mystery to us. Keith, Shiro, Hunk, and Pidge all work together on what 'Voltron' might be. I don't say anything, because I was absolutely useless in this conversation the first time and I know too much, I have no idea what Information I shouldn't know yet.
We finally get to the Blue Lion. It was harder than I thought, not saying what I know, letting things progress the same until we were in space. Leaving Keith with no way of escaping my affection. Not that was anything he'd want to escape, I hope.
I'm sure I felt physical pain waiting for Keith to explain the force field before I strode up and knocked. Quintessence being a force that transcends time and space, helped Blue to recognize me for who I was. I'm sure the other lions would as well. In the past, I form quintessence bonds with all of them, so I could pilot them all without having to be in them.
We see Voltron forming and everyone gets excited. We all pile in and I, probably with more calm than I should have, noted that Blue was talking to me and off we went. Quintessence bonds as strong as before, I let Blue do her thing. Attacking the ship and creating a wormhole to the castle.
~~~~~
This time I don't fart in an enclose space or throw any snarky comments at Keith. I think I might have a good chance of winning him over. I point out the castle and we go in and follow the torch lights to the sleep chamber.
I didn't flirt with Allura this time, but I still got forced into a headlock. Coran and I do horribly imitated fighting moves at each other, while Allura wakes up the castle.
"It can't be... " Allura whispers.
"What is it?" Coran questioned, immediately concerned.
"We've been asleep for 10,000 years!"
