He stood outside Celeste's door, staring at it. His heart was racing, he was nervous, and anxious. Every time he tried to knock, he felt his arm freeze. After a few moments, he  finally had enough. He cleared his throat, raised his right first, and knocked a couple times. He waited for a second, and got no response back. He knocked a couple more times, and then waited. Still no response.

"Celeste? It's James... And I just wanted to talk to you. I'm sorry for how I acted. It was immature and stupid. But you can't blame me... I didn't want to risk losing you..  You've been such a refreshing breath of fresh air! And the fear of something starting between us,  and it being nothing but a rebound. Terrified me! I know you said, I can't live in the past. And I understand that now! If I hang on to the past, it is bound to rear it's ugly head... But if I go for broke, and forget about the past, and look to the future. It could hold something beautiful for me. And that beautiful, is you! Maybe were crazy for wanting to try something. But I like crazy! I'm sorry that I hurt you... It was the last thing I wanted to do! Believe me. These past few days, quarantined with you, have been some of the best days on my life! And I want to be quarantined with you, for as long as I can, for however long this goes on between us! And I'm hoping it goes on for a very, very, very, long time." James took a deep breath, and continued. "I think you're amazing! Your personality is beautiful, your smile, your eyes. And even your stubbornness! Everything about you is beautiful! When I'm with you, I feel so comfortable! I do things  with you, I wouldn't normally do with another human being. If this was a gamble, I'd lay everything on the line! Because I know deep down, it's worth it, your worth it!"

James took a step back from her door. Taking a deep breath, and holding it in. He listened, hoping to hear any sign of life, from her apartment. But when he heard nothing, he slowly let his breath out, and hung his head low. He started walking back to his apartment, but he stopped halfway, turned back to her door, and spoke again.

"I really hope you are listening, and heard all that... If not, I just spent the last few minutes talking to a door... I'm sure the door thought it was nice..." He turned back, and walked home. He closed the door behind him, and leaned up against it. He slumped to a sitting position on the floor. His left leg was extended straight out, and his right was bent up. He rested his chin on his right knee, and sat there.
