Chanyeol was loss for words, and not just figuratively. His mouth kept hanging open as if he was going to speak, yet no words came out. The prince was stunned to the point of speechlessness.
Slowly his heartbeat began to speed up as he watched the 'princess' approach, and he realized all the words he could say. Stunning, beautiful, amazing.....but still a boy.
"Princess Baekhyeon...you look...different..." Princess Yuri was the first so speak. She had been friends with a princess named 'Baekhyeon' when she was younger, but since then they had drifted apart.
Her memory was not the greatest, so maybe the other princess had changed a lot. That was the only answer, because the one thing she remembered was her wings. She would always make fun of the princess for having dull coloured wings despite being a noble.
"Chanyeol!" his father barked before Baekhyun could reply to the real princess, "Why are you still sitting like a fool? Show your date some manners!"
"Yes father..." was all Chanyeol could say. He stood from his seat but his eyes never left Baekhyun as he pulled the chair out for him. At first Baekhyun was a bit confused, but then he got the message that he was supposed to sit on it. Chanyeol pushed the chair in before sitting back in his seat and continuing to observe every part of the fairy figure. Even the way he sat was feminine, as if he was fitting every part of the role.
"How are things doing in your kingdom? It has been ages since we last spoke," Yuri tried to make conversation again.
"Good..." Baekhyun murmured, moving his hair behind his ear. He looked down into his lap and Chanyeol knew he was uncomfortable.
He just didn't understand why Baekhyun was doing this or how he even found out about his problem. Had he been eavesdropping to the conversation all along? And if so, that still didn't answer why he was helping. It just doesn't make any sense to him.
This servant truly was amazing, especially since his heart had not slowed in the least. A big good heart that keep him stronger. Every time he would steal a glance at the boy, he would have to look away before he got carried away by the beauty of the fairy. He would just be so pulled into his natural beauty that he didn't know what to do. It was almost like the first day they met.
"Now we can begin, but may I ask---what could you possibly see in my son? I can clearly see what he liked about you. You're quite the beauty! However, my son is not exactly the best man around!" the king went on, which made Chanyeol frown.
He knew better than to speak out against his father but he was curious about Baekhyun's answer,so he choose to let that past.
There was a long pause as Baekhyun continued to look into his lap. Chanyeol looked over ever so slightly to try and catch a glimpse him, only to find that the fairy appeared to be thinking deeply.
Slowly, Baekhyun moved the hair from his face again before looking up. He smiled at the king in such a way that even Yuri seemed to blush. Chanyeol was a bit taken aback, but he still needed to hear Baekhyun's confession.
"The question is not about what things I like about him, but what there's not to like. Call me a bit strange....but I look for things beyond looks and status. I am treated not only as a person, but as an equal. I'm treated with respect and I'm appreciated for what I do, not for how I look.
