Ive been slacking so here is an EXTRA long chapter!
I gave Ryan a look that could've killed him right there. He wouldn't notice of course he was to busy gawking at fucking Jessica. Ugh. I've hated her ever since grade school when she spit on my lunch and always used to trip me. I knew Ryan wouldn't know that, but this is why he should have checked with us.
"Oh meh gawd! Hayden! Hayden Ross!" I'm gonna kill her.
"Rose," I corrected her, "It is rose."
"Oh, Rose I'm sorry hun. So you have a band now! That's great!"
"And you're not wearing bright pink and sparkly shoes. Things change." Get. Her. Out!
"Whoa little chilly in here, well anyway do you guys wanna here what I got?" No.
"Sure, you got a guitar?" I looked at Madi like she was insane. She looked at me and shrugged her shoulders. She mouthed, 'what?' I shook my head and watched as Jessica picked up her guitar and put the strap over herself.
"Any song in particular?" I smirked.
"About a girl by Nirvana." She nodded and started playing.
After about 30 seconds I had to close my mouth because it dropped it the floor. Who the hell was this! This wasn't Jessica Miller, the bitch that terrorized me through grade school. No way in hell!
After she finished I was the first to talk. "Jessica....that was really good! When can you start?" I hated her, don't get me wrong, but I was desperate need for a new guitarist.
"As soon as you need me, not much going on in my life right now." Good to hear.
I nodded and gave her a paper. "Every new member signs this paper, we all have ours signed upstairs."
The paper was simple. It shows you the policy/rules, then you sign your name on the bottom.
Rule 1. One shall not complain about practice, we don't wanna hear it.
Rule 2. This band is not about you. Do. Not. Stage. Hog!
Rule 3. Respect your fellow band members, aka don't be an asshole.
Our policy is simple,
Love what you do and die doing it.
She nodded and signed the paper with a pen and handed it back. "Great, I'll make you a copy and I will keep the original." She nodded and took off her guitar.
"I'm really excited about this guys! I have a good feeling about this band." She smiled a smile that seemed genuine, but I still was NOT happy that she was in our band. And I definitely wasn't happy that she turned around and hugged Ryan kissing him on his cheek.
My face went red an Madi grabbed my arm and walked with me upstairs. "What are you thinking! I don't want them alone!" She grabbed my shoulders and shook me.
"Hayden! Seriously! You had your chance with Ryan! And you shot him down...you can't be mad at him, or her for that matter."
I sighed. She was right and I knew it. I nodded and she hugged me, I tried to hug back, but I just couldn't bother. I cared about Ryan, but she is right, I shot him down...not the other way around. I cared about him, but relationships and me end in failure...and I'm not the type of person that can handle failure.
She pulled back when we heard the basement door open and I realized I was crying and quickly wiped my eyes. God I'm such a girl. Gotta stop crying.
"So is she great or nah?"
I shook my head yes and looked behind him to see her bringing her guitar upstairs and setting it against the wall.
