I looked at myself in the mirror admiring my reflection .I loved the dress that I had gotten for my mom's wedding though I wished that my step sisters were as welcoming as my step dad .they barely glance my way and avoided me most of the time.

I sigh and sprayed my hair being careful not to mess up my hair that had been done from the day before.

I took up my silver purse and went downstairs to the car that was carrying my mother to the church where she would meet my step dad at the altar.she looked beautiful and her eyes were filled with happiness and I knew she was doing the right thing.since my dad had died I hadn't seen that spark in her eyes and I was glad to see it again.

"O mom you look so beautiful". I said and she smiled and said"you too my baby girl you look gorgeous".at the church as I watched my mom got married to my step dad I smiled hoping that one day I would be able to receive the happiness she did.At the reception I bumped into a boy and gasped because he was cute but I knew from experience from my country that men couldn't be trusted too easily and so I said"I am sorry .I am Alexia Miller the bride's daughter".he grin and said"that's fine I am Lucas Victoria's friend and date for this wedding".I nodded and looked away as Victoria came up to Lucas and linked her arm with his and smiled nastily at me."o hey sister .I see you have met my date Lucas .let me tell you we go way back and he is very special to me".I nodded and said"I can see that anyways bye I will see you around Lucas". He smiled and I walked away knowing that Victoria hated me talking to Lucas and I wasn't going to intrude where I wasn't wanted .with a smile on my face I made my way out onto the dance floor with my parents and prepared to have a good time no matter what.
