His Family

As I packed my suitcase to leave for New York City two weeks later I kept thinking how much I was going to miss my island home and my friends however this was a once in a lifetime opportunity and I couldn't allow it to pass me by .at age 14 and getting a chance to study abroad didn't happen for most people and I was going to grab it with both hands.

I took one final look around the room and let out a long sigh .I smoothed out the wrinkles of my jeans off the shoulder dress and smiled to myself.steven had bought me the dress after saying he wanted look after me as if I was his own daughter and I couldn't wait to meet his two daughters Clarice and Victoria both 15 year old twin girls.

An hour later we were on our way to the Norman Manley International airport where we waited before boarding the flight to New York.  It was my first time  flying in an airplane and for me it was thrilling and exciting and the food that they served was really nice.when we got to New York I kept looking around at the tall buildings and the bustle of people and the yellow taxes which were so different from our own taxes , infact everything was different but in a good way.
  

We took one of the taxes to his house and when we got there I could hardly believe my eyes.his house was huge like a mansion and full of glass doors and windows and the yard was beautiful with a lush green lawn and neatly cut hedges .we walked up to the front door and he unlocked it and we entered.inside was even more beautiful and expensively furnished .a maid came to us saying" Mr Henry welcome back".
"Miss brown meet my fiance Julia   Miller and her daughter Alexia Miller". He said and she smiled warmly at us saying "welcome . please follow me to the living room .I will tell Mavis to take your things to your rooms".

We followed her to the huge living room and sat in the soft brown sofa ."tell my daughters Clarice and Victoria that I am back .they must be stuck in their devices not to have heard me". Steven said and the maid left to do what he asked.hia daughters came down with shouts of "dad you are back .how was your time away?" Then they saw us and stopped . They were identical twins and the only difference between them was that one had a beauty spot on her left cheek.

"My darlings please meet your step mom Julia Miller and her daughter Alexia Miller. Guys please meet my daughters Clarice and Victoria". I smiled and said"please to meet you ". They merely smiled tightly and said"dad you don't mind if we go to a party do you ?" He smiled  , but said"yes I do . tonight I want you to have dinner with us to celebrate the fact that I am getting married".

They nodded and went back upstairs and turning to miss brown he  said"please show Alexia to her room".she nodded and I followed her up the stairs to where my room was .once upstairs we walked along a long hallway and stopped at the 5th door on the right .miss brown pushed a key into the lock and opened the door and we entered."well here we are.please make yourself at home".she said and left.

I was in awe of my room .it was huge and beautifully furnished.

I flopped down on the bed and smiled to myself .I got up and went to the window where I looked down into the large pool below.i packed away my things and looked up as a knocked sounded at my door and my mom came in.she looked beautiful and so happy that my heart swelled with happyness for her."o Alexia isn't this good. I am so glad I am able to give you a life you so rightfully deserve". I hugged her and said"mummy you know I love you and no matter what I will always be satisfied with what you provide for me". She stroked my head and said"I know my dear , but I am glad that God still provided for us .I hope you go after what you want dear and make me proud". I nodded and said"I promise mummy I won't let you down".
