One week after the beating I decided to put my plan into action. i told my mom that I was going to stay longer at Jennifer's house and to avoid her being hurt I told her in front of Steven that it was for my next upcoming competition and he seemed to understand. After school on Tuesday at Jennifer's house while we  were chilling by the pool I said " I need your help with something Jennifer". Noticing the seriousness of my tone she asked
" What is it ?" I took a deep breath and said " my mom and I are in danger and I need you to i don't know I have to find a way to help her". I said and she looked at me worriedly and said
" I can ask my mom to help you guys to get out of the country. I don't know what's going on , but I do want to help as your best friend. My mom will drive you guys to the airport and pay for all your boarding passes".

I shooked my head saying " that won't work . You see the person we are running from is my step dad Steven , but my mom is legally married to him and she will have to get a divorce from him , but I don't think he would allow it". Jennifer looked at me puzzled  asking " what I don't understand is why are you running from him . What is he doing to you guys ?" I looked at her knowing I couldn't say anything I had to avoid putting her in danger. " Um I can't tell you , but please believe me when I say that it is a life and death situation".

That night I was in my room wide awake even though everyone else was already fast asleep when I heard a tonk sound on my window and I opened it and looked down outside to see Clarice and Victoria.  They waved there hands in a come down motion and I shooked my head , but they continued until finally I decided to go outside to see what they wanted.

" What are you guys doing here at this time of night ?" I asked and Clarice said " no time to talk Alexia your mom has been hurt badly and we need you to come with us we are going to the hospital ". I felt my heart rate increase and I asked " what happened is she hurt very badly ?" Shaking her head Victoria said
" We really don't know the exact extent of her condition , but it must be pretty bad for the doctors to put her on life support". I gasped and went with them outside and a little way down the road to a waiting black car and that's when I realized that something was off. For starters three heavily built men with there faces covered in mask was waiting beside the car and Steven was smiling wickedly at me . I turned and took off running back to Jennifer's house , but one of the men caught me and taking out his gun he said " don't you know even think about it princess . You are ours now". He then cocked me on the head with it and I slipped into unconsciousness and the last thing I saw was Clarice and Victoria waving at me .
