The Ghost

Introduction

     Life is hard. Especially for some one who ran away from home and tried to survive on the streets. My life was a disaster. That is until Josh found me.
     I never believed in luck until he offered to give me money and a better life. It was everything I ever wanted. In exchange for me becoming his private investigator.
     I never said "No" to Josh, I was so grateful for him... until now.

    Josh has just called me in to get debriefed on my new mission. I haven't been on one in awhile and I'm excited to get back on the field.
"I have a new job for you, it's different but you'll like it." Josh said.
      If you didn't know Josh is about 5'10 with a decent build along with raven hair and brown eyes.
     "What is it about?" I ask honestly confused.
     "Have you heard about Barden?" He questioned.
     "All I know is that it's a new suburb of Atlanta." I don't understand why this is important.
     "New and private." He said. "It has a clinic, apartment complex, and university. And there's your new job."
     "You want me to go to college?" He's has had a lot of dumb ideas but this is by far the worst. "Are you crazy? Do you know how old I am?"
     "Because of your height it's easy for you to pose as a teenager." Josh explained.
     "Height jokes?" I deadpanned. "Seriously?"
     "We're off topic. The point is... Carmen Beale is the main objective of this assignment." Josh said. "She used to be my partner when I started all this, she was my right hand until she betrayed me. She stool a lot of money to create that neighborhood." He finished.
     "If she's the target why should I go to university?" I asked. "She's an adult woman, not a teenager."
     "Carmen is not given to socialize with new people. That's where you do your magic." Josh explained. "She has a daughter, Chloe Beale. All you have to do is be her friend. Earn her trust and get information about Carmen."
     "I thought it would be something different, but this is super easy." I said a little cocky. "Pretend that I like someone just to get information-"
     "Don't be fooled," Josh warned "it seems easy but, you will have a partner for this particular job. We are talking about Carmen, she's not silly at all."
     Even if Josh says that this job is going to be more difficult than all my other missions I really don't believe him. I've never met a job that I couldn't finish and I don't plan on starting now. I will just finish this job as soon as possible. The one thing I'm worried about is having a partner. I haven't had one in years. I really hope they don't get in the way. Because when I do my job I do it fast and efficient.
