Chapter 6

I haven't heard from Dana since Audri's party which was 2 months ago. Am I happy that I can move on? Am I upset? I don't know. But I am happy I have Jason by my side. We are now dating 2 months. I have no idea what the other girls are saying, he is a great person.... Except sometimes he hits me, but that's okay.

We were walking hand in hand around town.

"I'm starving. Where do you want to eat?" Jason asked.

I shrugged. "It doesn't matter because I'm starving too, anything is fine." I said.

We smiled at each other and continued to walk on.

That's when I heard someone say "Come on Dana! Let's go eat!" I didn't have to turn around to see who it was.

That annoying voice can never be forgotten. That's when I heard Dana call my name. Turning around, I saw him...and Audri. He was about to wave when he saw me with Jason. Then his eyes narrowed. Audri just smiled and waved. I waved back a little. Dana walked closer to us. I then noticed the looks than Audri and Jason were giving to each other. It made me uncomfortable.

"Vivian." He said.

"Hey Dana, long time no see..." I said.

"Yeah.." He said.

This was so awkward. I looked up and saw him narrowing his eyes at my hand in Jason's.

"Well, we have to go..." I said.

I didn't realize that I was squeezing Jason's hand tightly.

We were about to walk away when Dana grabbed my hand saying "Can I borrow her for a second?"

Jason shrugged.

"Sure. Doesn't matter to me." He said.

What? He said it as if he wouldn't care if a guy tried to steal me away from him.

Dana took me to one of the vending machines.

We were silent when he said "You're awful."

I flinched. How could he say that?!

"How can you confess to me and then leave and date someone else?" He said.

"I only told you because I'm moving on, Dana." I said.

"Do you not know who Jason is?! He's rumored to be abusive towards his girlfriends!" Dana yelled.

I hesitated to answer because I know Jason does that. I held my arm, thinking of the other night when he burnt my skin on purpose because I was with Wes and he thought I was cheating on him. Dana saw me do this and he grabbed my arm, right on the burn. I winced at the pain.

"Let go Dana!" I yelled.

He pulled my sleeve up and when he saw the injury, he got pissed.

"I'm going to kill him!" He said and turned to the direction of Jason.

"No stop!" I said.

Dana looked at me.

"I told you before. I don't need you looking after me anymore. Plus, Jason may abusive but at least he didn't step on my heart and gave false hopes." I said.

"That's because you never told me! How am I supposed to know how you feel?!" Dana yelled.

"I did tell you! Don't you remember rejecting me so coldly?! How am I supposed to confess again when you said something like that?! Dana, you broke my heart and you continue to be my friend and break my heart again and again! I've had enough of your games and you always giving me false hopes!" I yelled back.

Then I turned on my heel and walked away. That will give him something to think about. When I found Jason, I saw something that I shouldn't have. He was, kissing Audri. I stood, frozen.

As he pulled away from Audri, I heard him say "I love you baby, happy 1 year anniversary."

Oh my god. He's been cheating on me. I then ran home.

"Hey where were you? I was looking for you." Jason said when he came home.

I don't live with him, but I go over his house a lot. It was 1 a.m. I left him at 5:00 and he was with Audri the whole time... He put his arms around me and I shrugged them off when I realized I shouldn't have.

"What's gotten into you? Every time someone mentions that Dana guy or when you see him, you tense up, are you fuckin cheating on me?" He said, anger already rising.

I flinched. Crap.

"Calm down Jason. I wasn't-" before I could say anymore, Jason slapped me across the face.

Before I could react and fight back, he grabbed my hair and threw me at the wall.

"I love you! I gave you everything!" He yelled when I head-first slammed into the wall.

Pain shot through my head.

"Stop Jason! You cheated on me!" I pleaded.

He came over and started kicking my ribs. I screamed out in pain and tears fell down my cheeks. I should've listen to my friends. I should've broken up with Jason sooner, I should've listened to Dana, but now I'm in this big mess. Dana, I'm sorry. Jason continued to punch and kick me.

"SOMEONE HELP ME! PLEASE!" I screamed.

"SHUT THE FUCK UP!" Jason yelled and he started choking me to shut me up.

I struggled but his grip was tight. The abuse was at its worse tonight. I might actually die.. That's when I heard the door being forced open. Looking through my teary eyes, I saw him.

"Dana." I said.
