"A house is often a toxic place hidden under the mask of a loving home. "
It was 7:00 pm that Friday night when silent tears triumphantly wandered down Mary-Ann's beautifully distorted face ; and it was within that same wretched hour when Mary-Ann had set out her bleached out blood stained school blouse on the patio to dry in the night's cool breeze.
Mary-Ann wanted to deeply scream her lungs out to the heavens in hope that a savior would hear the pain in her cry, but every time she attempted to shout she would tremble and break down . She broke down in fear that the trauma which she had experienced three hours ago from her parents , would reoccur again .
I ; Mary-Ann's darkness saw this as an open opportunity to drift many suicidal thoughts across her brain, in hope that she would lose her mind and fall off the edge but Mary-Ann remained resilient and shadowed out all the suicidal thoughts with pure self toxic reassurance or 'lies' as you common folks call it .*Mary-Ann's thoughts*
"Sometimes I wish I had a new family , but at the same time I know my parents only did this because they love me, it's my fault not theirs. They feed me , cloth me , provide me with shelter and money . I ask and I get whatever I want . They love me and these scars are merely but a symbol of their strong love , they only treated me like this to protect me , You spare the Rod you spoil the child . I must've really hurt them , I hope that they know that I'm very sorry and that I know I deserved this. I just wish that I could find it in me to give them that same strong love . "Mary-Ann had received the worst beating and not to mention the most degrading scolding she's ever gotten in her 17 years of life . After hanging out her school blouse to dry on the patio , trying her best to stay hidden ; she ran upstairs into her room , grabbed her shower kit and made her way into the bathroom . Her goal was to run herself a therapeutic and nurturing bath in hope that she would find a slight crumble of peace within herself .
Without delay , Mary-Ann went deep into her shower kit and retrieved her vanilla scented bath salts and poured a sufficient amount into the water . After seven minutes of soaking her body in , specks of blood submerged in the tub this left Mary-Ann feeling quite triggered as the series of her parent's brutality began playing out in her head . In a jiffy she flushed the water down the bathtub's drain and decided that taking a shower would be a much better approach for her sanity .
Mary-Ann commanded Siri to play Billie Eilish songs on her phone and as Bad Guy came on ; she began to think of ways to sneak out of her home for the party .
As much as I'd like to continue Mary-Ann's Tragic but Beautiful Tale from here , let's backtrack a bit .3 HOURS BEFORE .
Upon Mary-Ann's arrival home from the bus stop Mr and Mrs Pierre were seated on their well wine stained couch indulging themselves in Mystic Falls news through the daily newspaper. When Mary-Ann walked in she greeted her parents , but she didn't get a greeting back . They didn't respond because they were both in awe . All eyes were on her ; but why you may ask ? Well all eyes were fixated on Mary-Ann because of the physical state she was in .
Exhibit A - her skirt was missing in action.
Exhibit B - her tights were wet and gooey and there wasn't a smell of urination circling in the air.
Exhibit C - a foreign jacket was wrapped around her waist with a folded piece of paper sticking out the pocket .
Before the Pierre's could've gotten a word out , Mary-Ann blurted , Mom , Dad , I know this all looks bad , but I'm very hungry , I haven't ate anything all day , I could smell that there is food in the kitchen so please allow me to draw myself a plate and after eating I'll explain myself .
Mr and Mrs Pierre allowed their daughter to go into the kitchen to grab a plate of food to eat but only under one condition. She was to leave her phone, school backpack and the jacket in their possession .
Once both parties came to an agreement with the terms which were set, Mary-Ann briskly stepped foot into the kitchen to satisfy her hunger and in no time , Mary-Ann's parents rummaged through her bag and phone , luckily for Mary-Ann her items were cleaner than a whistle .
Now it was time to search the jacket , while doing this Mrs Pierre took noticed of a folded piece of paper which was sticking out of the left pocket . When she opened it she realized that it was a cellphone number with the words 'call me babe' imprinted next to it with a dash. She brought it to her husband's attention .
They both called out to Mary-Ann in unison and in two shakes of a lamb's tail , with her mouth filled with food , she came out to them . Mary-Ann was questioned by her dad about the jacket. If Mary-Ann sucked at anything in this world it was most definitely lying .
* Conversation breaks out between Mary-Ann and her Father in the Living Room *
" It's a friend's jacket , he— I mean she lent it to me because of a bubble gum incident which occurred on the bus today , which also explains my missing skirt ."
"So when am I going to meet this friend?"
"Well we aren't so very close as yet , but I promise you when we do get close I'll arrange for him- I mean her to come over "
"Mary-Ann Pierre, Do you take me for a god forsaken fool ? , am I a joke to you ? Which lady owns MEN basketball jacket with male name and signature written in on the inside ! You are good for nothing just like your damn mother. "
"Dad hear me out , I can explai-"
"Mary-Ann you have caused your father to dishonor me " , Mrs Pierre retorted .
BAMBAM ! , PLOW ! BAM ! , PLOW !
Mr and Mrs Pierre had rocketed seven hard and heavy blows all over Mary-Ann's body to the point where blood which oozed from her forehead began creeping unto the boards of living room floor . After Mr Pierre grew weary of the blows he got up and lashed his Nautica belt across Mary-Ann's arms and legs . She tried fleeing countlessly but all her attempted escapes were unsuccessful because her mother held her down
every ,
single,
time.
With every lash Mary-Ann received , she held her breath in trying her best not to scream. She began to see the marks branded on her skin as a symbol of her parents strong tough love .PRESENT TIME
